Would you reccomend the Iberstar Rose Hall Beach Resort?

Hello all and thanks in advance for helping me with my questions. My family and I are planning a vacation in the middle of July at the Iberstar Rose Hall Beach Resort in Montego Bay. Would you recommend this resort? How much is a good tip (US$)to leave for the waiters in the restaurants and bars? Any suggestions if we decide to stay there (Restaurants to visit and so on)? Is visiting the Dunns River Falls a must? July and hurricanes, should I worry?

Many, many thanks for your input!

I have stayed at Rose Hall and it is very nice. It has it’s own beach so although Dr’s Cave Beach is better it not only will cost you cab fare to get there and back it also costs to get in. If you decide to go all the way out to Dunn’s River maybe you could combine it with a rafting trip on the Martha Brae.
There will be brochures and probably a rep from a tour company at the hotel. If you book with them they will pick you up at the hotel in a nice van with AC. There are many great things to do in Jamaica so get out and meet the people. Don’t worry about hurricanes, Jamaica doesn’t get hit very often. It is an all inclusive so you don’t need tips but they do love little presents ( stuffed animals, jewelry, cologne, clothes, hats etc.

Freighter Ship Travel as an option?

I’m trying to find alternative ways to get from Sydney to Bali or Singapore. Is it possible to get a spot on a freighter going to these areas or anywhere else in the world for that matter? Is it comparatively cheaper than airfare, etc.?

It isn’t cheaper then an airfare, cost approx $95 per day, could take a few weeks to get to your destination, and you will still need a return ticket for when you pass through customs (non singapore resident).

Priceline Airfare Bid

New Holiday Airfare Report: 2010 Is The 2nd Most Expensive Year For Thanksgiving & Christmas Airfares In The Last 8 …
The economy may still be challenged, but you wouldn’t know it from looking at airfares for Thanksgiving and Christmas travel. Â

Has anyone used Priceline.com to bid on airfare?

My wife and I have to make an unexpected trip from Philadelphia to Wilmington, N.C. today or tomorrow.
Airfare pricing is prohibitive so I was thinking of bidding for flights. Does anyone out there have any idea what a realistic bid on a $450 flight would be?

$450 seems to be the going rate right now, so go lower. The one good thing about bidding on Priceline is that you can go lower and re-bid if too low. Try $250 and head up. Be warned that Priceline includes a service fee, so be aware of that when bidding…for instance $250 inclusive of the fee. It’s more difficult these days because the airlines are filling flights because they’ve cut back in service to eliminate empty seats.

Airfare Calendar International

In Vietnam, Ha Giang, a Region of Beauty and Ethnic Traditions
MY first glimpse of the place that some call Vietnam’s Shangri-La came on a brisk spring afternoon as we were careening along a narrow road hemmed in by sheer limestone walls. Our driver made a hairpin turn and all at once the landscape erupted into a sweep of dazzling slopes, serrated ridges and hanging valleys. In the pocket of a mountain pass called Heaven’s Gate, Hoang Tuan Anh, who also …

when does special christmas airfares to china start?

esp, cathay pacfic?? someone I knew bought an air ticket for the start of december last year for only 1200 AUD but now when I look the tickets up they are almost 200 AUD…
Thanks!

Usually Christmas airfares increase when closer to the holiday. But there are exceptions. So it is best to check Cathay and other airlines several times each week. The same airfares may be lower on certain days.

This link discusses timing that may enable you to get the best fare:

Airfare Atlanta To La

airfare atlanta to la
Lake City Community Planner for Oct. 6
Here’s a look at the upcoming events scheduled in and around the Lake City area.

Anyone know what price range a ticket from Los Angeles (LAX) to Atlanta (ATL) will run me?

I’m flying in late April and as this is more than 90 days out, web sites like farecast.com cannot provide me with predictions for the best time to buy. I just checked today (Wednesday, 1/16) and Delta has a significant price drop in airfare from $340 yesterday to $304 today. That includes all taxes and fees. Is $300 about what I should expect to pay for a roundtrip ticket from LA to Atlanta? I expected it to be much lower seeing as how Delta’s hub is in Atlanta and there are flights every hour to and from LAX. But I could be wrong. Any help and feedback is greatly appreciated.

Take it, $300 is probably cheapest, last year, there were a couple of time, you can get $260 total, but gas price was cheaper though.

Low airfare to Europe?

From Atlanta, what is the lowest airfare to any city in Europe (examples, Paris, Rome, London, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, etc).

While Delta has its hub in Atlanta, I would check Continental Airlines and fly out of their Newark hub or their new parent, United and fly out of Dulles. They have actually had some great prices the last few weeks and I booked two international trips, saving considerable money that I can spend in the EU verses on the price of a ticket. You would think that flying an extra leg from Atlanta to Newark or Dulles in DC would cost you additional funds, but you would be surprised just how much money you can save.

BTW, the cheapest fare is usually to London, but this time of year, I was able to obtain a great rate into Rome, provided you can travel in the spring and return by mid April before the Easter Holidays.

Enjoy your trip
