What happens if I live in London and I buy airfare through a US travel agent that charges in USD vs. a UK one?

I went on Expedia’s US and UK sites and compared prices for flights out of London. Airfare on the US site are considerably cheaper than the UK one? Does anyone know what would happen if I purchased airfare on the US site?
