Unfortunately, you may not need the cashmere as much at that time, but buying it at the end of the season will allow you to receive a heavy discount. I’ve gotten my cashmere cardigans at a 50% discount off the regular price, all because I waited until the end of the season. When buying these items, I usually store them away, add some herbal sachets to ward off the moths, and then bring them out at the end of fall and start wearing them. Because you are buying at the end of the season, make sure you select classic items that will not go out of style. Stay away from the trendy items that may not look right the following year.

3. Look online: Online stores like overstock.com and bluefly.com have an excellent assortment of cashmere. Their items are always rotating, but if you check frequently, you will find your cashmere sweater for a very heavy discount. Inventory in these online stores move really fast so you will have to check often and be prepared to make that purchase when you see an item that you want.
4. Check the outlets: Designer outlets are a great place to shop, especially for cashmere. This is because the outlets will often carry at least a few cashmere items and these will already be heavily discounted. The items may not be the latest fashion trend, but cashmere is meant to be warm and a classic item will outlast all of the trends. Therefore if you need the item right away and want to wear it for the winter season, then check the outlets. More often than not, you will get a discount.

The trip is personal and cannot be converted into a business trip just to get a tax deduction. Even if you can demonstrate that you stayed an extra week to do research, you cannot deduct the airfare or hotels you incurred to get to the family event.
