I’m flying to Hawaii in October. When should I buy airfare?

I’m flying to Hawaii in the beginning of October. How far out should I book my flight? I’ve heard that booking 6-10 weeks before departure gets the best deals, is that right?

That is absolutely right. The 6-10 week time frame is when air carriers start reducing prices so they can unload seats that haven’t sold.
