Cheap Hotels Tips

CHEAPEST AIRFARE AND POSS HOTEL BOOKING?

Is it cheaper to fly from a smaller airport or a bigger airport? I was looking at either Chicago’s OHare or Midway airports OR Bloomington, IL regional airport to fly out of. I wanted to fly to Salt Lake City (roundtrip) sometime in late Feb-late March. Was just curious if anyone had tips about when/how to find the cheapest airfare. I’ve checked the major search engines (like priceline, orbitz, etc). I’ve also tried booking with or without a hotel, too. Or is it cheaper to book a hotel separate? Any help or tips are appreciated! THANKS!

Try bing.com/travel for airfare. They used to be called farecast, and it will actually search all of the sites for you (not just open them in a separate window). Use hotels.com to compare with what you’d get from the regular sites (Expedia, Priceline, etc.) with hotel + airfare. There are some weekly rate hotels you might save on depending on how long you stay. If you don’t stay right downtown I think you can get a better rate too.
