Perth man in Thai protests deported
A Perth man jailed during anti-government protests in Bangkok, and then kept in a Thai immigration detention centre because he couldn’t pay for his deportation, is finally headed home.
Ceramic bathroom tile Flights To Bangkok Posted By: Asif

I am leaving for Thailand this Saturday. I will be mainly staying in Bangkok. My ticket is non refundable ?

and they wont allow any changes. Do you think I should risk it or lose my airfare. What would you do? Can I stay out of these areas, is there any threat of bombs, I realise Thai’s are not usually violent people and I am travelling with a native Thai. I have pressure from family and boyfriend to stay in Australia.

Since your only going to stay in Bangkok you should have no problems. Like everyone keep on repeating here (read some of the answers to question here) your be fine just kept away from protest areas and use common sense.

Tips for Getting Cheap Airfares

You have to spend some time and little effort for finding the cheap airfares. Mentioned below are some tips which help in getting the cheap flight tickets –

You need to plan for your trip and book for your ticket earlier so that you can check out the best deal available. Airline ticket prices typically go up 21 days, 14 days, 7 days and 3 days before flying. Another advantage is that you can choose a better seat and view for your trip. So, planning early gives you variety of options that you don’t get when you purchase tickets quite close to your journey schedule.

Consider traveling during off days because it is always cheaper. Traveling during the off days not so bad, it can save you money and hassle from crowded tourist spots. You can enjoy your trip much better and not worry about getting an airplane ticket. People generally like to travel more frequently on Monday and Friday due to weekends. So, Monday and Friday are rush days which leads to inconvenience at the airport and also makes the tickets costlier since the flights at these times are generally overbooked. So flying form Tuesday to Thursday may help you in getting the low air fares.

You should never book the first fare you see. Start your search by visiting the major online travel providers, like bookcheapest, hotwire and compare their prices and other trip packages that they offer.

If fares go down after you’ve purchased your ticket, ask for a refund! but policies vary by airline — and many do not publicize the fact that they will refund you the difference if prices go down.

It has never been easier to book a cheap flight to any place in the world. All you need to do is be resourceful and patient in looking for a website that offers affordable rates to let you fly anywhere in the world. Go online and Search Cheap Airfares .

Where should I take a day trip?

So I’ve got $350 in free airfare, not really going to NEED it, so I figure I’ll take a day trip somewhere cool. I live in Phoenix, so I don’t know exactly how far $350 will get me back and forth, but…here is my criteria:
I don’t want to spend more than $250 at my destination (Food, rental car if needed, admission to ???, whatever else)
I’m already thinking of things to do like museums, zoos, historical cities or landmarks, but I know there’s plenty I’m not thinking/aware of.

That’s about it. I’ve never done much traveling other than Southern California and Vegas. Thanks for all your input

I would go to a theme park, that’s always fun to ride the rollercoasters. Cedar point in Ohio is closer to you than California and has some insane coasters.

What kinds of airfare deals can I try?

Do you want sometimes take a break, grab your bag and fly to some unknown destination? Enjoy the night life of a city or rather explore the countryside? An airplane can take you to any place around the world. Are you objecting that flying is expensive? On the contrary! There are lots of low cost airlines on the market which offer a variety of airfare deals. Traditional airlines do not get left behind with budget flights too. You can also make use of a huge offer on sales and discounts.

Probably the biggest sale is on early booking. The earlier you book your ticket, the bigger the sale is. If you know the date of the departure don’t hesitate and book your flight as soon as possible – you can save even more than 50%! And this is worth considering.

If you don´t mind getting up early, you might like the early bird airfare deals. Early morning flights are usually cheaper than the later ones. You can also travel during night – the many airports have lower taxes during night and early morning hours and that’s why you can save a lot.

Students might be acustomed to sale almost at every step and the budget flights are no exeption. They can enjoy the student discount on various flights. Some airlines offers special students card thanks to which student or young under 26 can book their flights very cheaply. On the other hand, not only student and young people in general are interested in travelling. Also senior discounts are quite popular among seniors and pensioners.

Spending a few days in warmth and on the beach is great. But in summer is it pretty difficult to find a quiet place on the beach where you can put your towel and relax. Book your ticket in late spring or in autumn and you can not only enjoy the serene holiday but also the off-season discount on your flight ticket.

Very popular among travellers are the introductory fares. The airline launches a new destination and the few first flights are cheaper. It is also possible that the airline introduce a special airfare deal on the occasion of its birthday or a Bank holiday, etc.

Flying nowadays is all about airfare deals and budget flights. When you are patient enough, you will definitely find the right price for you.

Airfare Questions:

When do Red Sox spring training tickets go on sale?

I am trying to plan a trip to Fort Myers in March, and would like to book the airfare and hotel as soon as possible. Does anyone know when..
1- the schedule comes out?
2- tickets go on sale?
3 – if they are hard, or easy, to get?
4 – the general price?

The Red Sox have not yeat released their official spring training schedule as yet. However, a tentative, incomplete schedule can be found at this site;

http://www.springtrainingonline.com/teams/boston_redsox_3.htm

They have not yet release when tickets will go on sale or the prices. Last year, Red Sox tickets went on sale December 3rd. They ranged from $12-$44 last year, or $10 for day-of-game lawn tickets.

The team is already selling offical packages on their website.

Most Red Sox Grapefruit League games sell out, home and road. So get them ahead of time. Home games will probably sell out early.

I’d suggest going to see them at other sites as well. The Twins complex on the south side of town is the closest, but any road game is worth the drive and not all that far.

Though it has been a few years, I’ve been to several different Grapefruit League seasons, and seen games in most of the parks, including City of Palms. It is a great atmosphere. Be aware that City of Palms is in an old part of town and there is little parking to speak of, so come early and take in batting practice.

Europe Vacation

Europe Travel Planning: How To Plan An Affordable European Vacation

what kind of clothes should i wear on my vacation to europe?

i am going to europe next week and i understand they dress a bit nicer than americans. what kind of clothes should i pack if i dont want to get a lot of looks from the locals?

I have been to almost every country in Europe and so I think I can speak with a bit of authority when I say there is of course no “European way” of dressing. Just like in America, and I am sure every other country in the world, you will find some people who dress nicer than others regardless of the activity, particularly those that are older (middle aged and up). If you get looks by them, it won’t be how you dress (or at least not any more than you’d get wearing the same outfit here). Being a woman, if you’re attractive at all, you will get looks just from that (probably a lot more so there than here).

You should also remember, that many places there are going to be rather crowded with tourists from all over the world who are not going to necessarily care how they dress. This is particularly true with backpackers, who can’t afford the weight and space that a nice outfit would take up. This will help give you a lot of people to blend into no matter how you dress.

It is highly recommend in most guidebooks not to wear shorts in museums, churches, and similar attractions though I have seen people do it there with no problems I generally wear jeans, khakis, or corduroys and a tee-shirt (with nothing on it that would be offensive) or pullover shirt depending on where I go and have never had a problem or have been made to feel uncomfortable. I usually take a nice coat with me to where over whatever else I am wearing to have something nicer looking when I need it (as much as for the cooler weather I have run into).

I would recommend your focus being more on your itinerary and your activities there to plan your wardrobe than on a concern about how people will view you.

In most places, you will find the temperature to be closer to that of New England than the southern U.S., and so even in the summer there are times it might get a little cool particularly in the evening. Though depending where you are, it might also get hot and rainy. If you look up travel sights for the country you’re going to (or get a nice travel guide) than they should list average temperatures and rainfall so you can have some guide for planning around the weather.

Wear comfortable walking shoes that you have broken in before you go.

Wear whatever bags/purses you are taking across your body (as opposed to just down your sholder) to decrease the likelyhood that you’ll have it snatched (if you’re careful at all and use common sense then the closest you should come to a brush with crime will be petty theft, and even that doesn’t happen alot).

I should also tell you that you may very likely run into people that are going to have more interest in your being an American than how you dress. Most people I have met over there have been wonderful, and many of them have gone out of there way to be kind, but that isn’t always the case, so [don't be worried, but] be careful what you do and say.

By the way, there is an old (and pretty wise) saying re: packing for your trip (to help you avoid over packing). It says you should lay out everything you think you absolutely need for the trip, and then when you are sure you have it all you should take half as much stuff and twice as much money.
