Summer Schooling in Mexico: An Enriching Experience

Mexico offers a rich culture, warm climate, great people and beautiful places. You can have a taste of Mexican culture and enrich your skill by enrolling in any of their universities. They offer summer programs you will surely enjoy.

Exploring other cultures is one of the best ways to spend your summer vacation. There are a number of International Universities that offer summer programs. It may sound expensive but the experience that you will get in return is immeasurable. Mexico takes pride in opening several universities for international students during summertime.

Exchange students need certain documents prior to being accepted for the program. This would include a tourist visa, traveler’s check and a passport. Most of the programs in Mexico’s Universities include fees that cover roundtrip airfares, summer tuition fees, medical and travel insurances as well as housing allowances.

University of Guadalajara

This is the second largest university in Mexico and is only a few meters away from downtown Guadalajara. It is known for its excellent accommodations, especially for international students. Their facilities include Internet rooms and libraries, cafeterias, business areas that provide fax, mail and foreign currency exchange as well as novelty shops.

Most of the students and staff stay at the Moralva Suites. This housing provides laundry services. It is very near commercial areas like shopping centers, banks and restaurants. Their summer program called “Verano En Mexico” starts from June 27 up to July 18. The program costs $2,790 which would include airfare, tuition, housing, insurance and excursions.

Students will have classroom activities and tours to different places in Mexico. The program will teach them the language, which they will use on a daily basis, and the country’s rich culture. This will also include topics in history, governance, cuisine and folk dance. The program enhances an individual’s foreign language skill, interest in academic study, independence, maturity and boost self esteem. It also allows students to expand their horizons by meeting new and interesting people. They also have a chance to experience other cultures.

Monterrey Tech-Cuernavaca Campus

Cuernavaca, the City of Eternal Spring, has an almost perfect climate and a perennial flower bloom. This University in Cuernavaca is equipped with a computer center, cafeteria, library, stores as well as modern classrooms and laboratories. They offer a variety of student activities ranging from workshops to sports.

Their summer programs are from May 27 to July 8, which would include intensive language courses and Latin American Studies. This is from their history to its culture. The program costs $1,150.00, covering the activity fee, shuttle bus service, airport pick up service and home stay or immersion activity with a Mexican Family.

Additional fees are charged for excursions. These activities are organized by the Office of the International Programs. This would include a visit to pyramids of Xochicalco, Acapulco, Taxco and Puebla.

Nacel International

Their office is located at Calle Arc del Teatre 3, 2-La Barcelona Spain. During the summer, they offer a program called Spanish Home Stay in Mexico. This is a type of immersion activity which the company has, as part of their language programs. This program is also open to everyone who is interested in the activities.

Nacel International brings a student to a host family in Mexico. He or she is given an opportunity to experience a typical everyday Mexican life. The student is expected to participate in his new family’s daily activities. The host family is not required to organize excursions or visits on his behalf. The students are also expected to spend their own money to have take part in such activities.

The program teaches the student to be more independent, to improve his Spanish literature and get a taste of Mexican culture. It also fosters friendship and social skills as one tries to get along his foster family.

Airfare Questions:

What is realistic summer airfare Phila to Vancouver?

I have to fly to Vancouver June 22nd with two other adults and a senior citizen. We’ll fly home one of the first three days in July. I am seeing airfares from well over $500 with taxes upward to $1000 per person for coach. I’m looking at airlines directly and all of the commonly known discount sites for cheaper fare. Am I being unrealistic? What’s typical for that destination from Philly? Any ideas on where to look or how to go about this for better results?

if you get your tickets early like i did you can go for about 250 or 300

cost of a PDTI certified CDL school for tractor trailers?

Im looking into getting my CDL.I dont want to finance and get locked into a contract or ripped off entirely so I wonder what a PDTI certified school would cost.Found one and its about $3,500.00 with lodging.plus they help you find a job if you qualify and they are hiring.I live in florida but can travel for it.Any suggestions? Please have cost along with your answer or a link.Thanx!

3500.00 is about the average of most schools. It sounds pretty reasonable with the cost of lodging included.I have seen Colleges that have adult courses which truck driving is avaiable run about 7000.00 and thats without lodging.A good thing about the school you are talking about is you eat sleep and drive for about three weeks.THey will have you driving at night, mountain areas if they are close .you will get a lot of practical driving time.Thats why you get the lodging. So you will be avaiable at all times of the day.Plus there is a shortage of drivers right now and the trucking Industry is very involved in these schools to offer a driving job to new graduetes. The starting pay insnt to bad either. My son and I both have Class A licenses but I dont do much driving anymore due to nite blindness, but my son drives a lot and the more time you get under your belt the better the money gets.Having a CDL certification is like having cash in your billfold even if you decide you may want to take a break from driving you can always go back and finding a driving job is much easier then most regulad jobs. And like I said the starting pay is usually much better then most entry level positions.

Know the Warranty on Your Metal Detector

AntonyUno asked:

ers offer help in the beginning, because they want you to be happy with the detector and desire your repeat business. Buying used metal detectors is a great if you are able to test it out before you purchase it, however it may not be a good idea to purchase one online. There is a lack of adequate security officers and lines would be too long if individuals had to wait to be scanned by a metal detector.

On the other hand it doesn\’t hurt to wave your metal detector over any jacket, bag, shirt, or pants. On the other hand if the idea of a metal detector is that you easily switch to the on position and begin scanning, then it will be considered as a simple device to use. These devices are often warned to avoid airport metal detectors, so if a person has one on them they may be caught with it. The other is a high resolution passive implanted planar silicon (pips) surface barrier alpha detector.

They seem to work well especially for really small and close objects, but they are being more sensitive to picking up benign metals. The technology for detecting explosives were included in the terrorism prevention act of 2004. Just as i was about to put my suitcase through the x-ray the tsa guy working the outside instructed me to go through the metal detector. A range of industrial metal detectors for protection of machinery, such as crushers are usually priced very reasonable. There is a huge difference where you buy your metal detector ,there are many places to choose from just make sure your choice specializes in metal detectors. Just as if you were planning to return your metal detector to the manufacturer, keep all the original documents that came with it at the time of purchase.

How many times will your equipment be inspected\’ remember, inspections are perhaps the most important aspect to keeping a metal detector in great condition. Most dealers offer these packages which include trowels, a pin pointer, and usually rechargeable batteries for the detector. Security needs to be replaced with a layered well-integrated system, the systems might include; metal detectors, cameras, and pad locked doors. How often will the metal detector be used; this is one question most vendors ask before selling a detector, it is really important to know this information. They seem rather bulky so it would seem that these would take the place of the wand metal detector.

Little Squaw’s Big Gold Potential

Darryl Kelley asked:

Its not often one discovers an OTC-listed mining company that has a board of directors and management team with the caliber and pedigree of Little Squaw Gold Mining Company (OTCBB:LITS).

The president, Richard Walters, besides being a certified professional geologist with the American Institute of Professional Geologists and a Qualified Person as defined in National Instrument 43-101, was also a founder, director, president and chief operating officer of Yamana Resources Inc. the forerunner to Yamana Gold Inc., (TSX:YRI) between December 1994 and March 2000. He also serves as a director and executive vice-president of Marifil Mines Ltd. (TSX.V:MFM).

Rodney Blakestad, the vice-president of exploration, has in his thirty years as a geologist worked with Columbia Metals Corp. (TSX.V:COL), Nevada Star (now Pure Nickel – TSX:NIC), and Robex Resources (now Robex Gold – TSX.V:RBX). He is credited in part with the discovery of the 4 million ounce Fort Knox Gold Mine, now owned by Kinross Gold Corporation (TSX:KGC).

Robert Pate, the company’s vice-president of operations, is also a 30 year veteran of mine operation and mineral exploration having served with Yamana Resources, Freeport Copper (a division of Freeport McMoran – NYSE: FCX) , Coeur d’Alene Mines (NYSE:CDE), and Atlas Precious Metals were he was the chief geologist at the Gold Bar Mine in Nevada. At Freeport, he was a senior supervisor of the huge Grassberg Indonesia copper/ gold mine.

In the board of directors, William Schara is the Chairman, and was the chief financial officer of Minera Andes Inc. (TSX:MAI), a Vancouver-based company bringing a new gold and silver mine into production in Argentina. He is currently the CEO of Nevoro (TSX.NVR), and is also an alumni of Yamana Resources.

The rest of the directors have collectively had stints with Kennecott Corporation (now a division of Rio Tinto PLC – NYSE:RTP), Bond International Gold, Copper Range Corp, Newmont Mining (NYSE:NEM), Revett Minerals (TSX:RVM), and Pegasus Gold Corp (now Apollo Gold – AMEX:AGT). The affiliations with professional associations related to mining are simply too numerous to list here.

So the point is, don’t think of Little Squaw as just another OTC-listed mining deal. This is a powerful, been-there, done-that team of seasoned executives who are unlikely to waste their time on anything less than projects with the strong potential to become mines.

Which brings us to their flagship project, the Chandalar mining district. Bear in mind that the past employment of both management and directors is extremely relevant to this property, in that there is a great deal of history spent on the part of this team in the jurisdiction of Chandalar – Alaska.

This 23 square mile property package has above average potential for underground, open pit, and placer mining operations. Little Squaw owns 100% of the ground, and an independent study by Pacific Rim Geological has drawn comparisons in the geology at Chandalar to, among others, the 38 million ounce Sukhoi-Log mine in Russia, the 7.9 million ounce Natalka mine, also in Russia, the Juneau district in Alaska, which produced over 3 million ounces, Cape Nome, Alaska, which produced over 5 million ounces of placer gold, and Treadwell, Alaska, which produced more than 3 million ounces of gold.

The main hard rock deposits in the Chandalar district are the Mikado Lode, Chandalar-Eneveloe Lode, Summit Lode, and the Little Squaw Lode. Other Lode Gold Prospects in the Chandalar Mining District include the Crystal Vein, Big Squaw Claim, Pioneer Prospect, Drumlummon Prospect, Grubstake Vein, Grubstake East Prospect, Prospector East Prospect, Indicate-Tonapah Lode, Chandalar Vein, Jupiter Vein, Bonanza Vein, Pallasgren Claim, St. Marys Prospect, Star Claim Group, Star No. 3 Claim, Duplex-Triplex Vein, Wildcat Prospect, Jackpot Prospect, Woodchuck Claim, Little Kiska Occurrence, Pedro Prospect, and the Grubstake West Claim Group. Most of these prospects are historic discoveries carrying significant gold values that remain as yet unexplored.

This mineral belt includes such famous deposits as Cominco’s Red Dog zinc mine, the largest zinc deposit in the world, and the prolific Ambler volcanogenic massive sulfide (copper & zinc) district, now controlled by Nova Gold. Prospectors discovered the district about 100 years ago, and its recorded production from placer and lode mines is 84,000 ounces. There has been a substantial but unknown amount of unreported and otherwise secret production. Of the recorded production, 76,000 ounces of gold or about 90 percent of the total was recovered from placer deposits.

Trenching last year produced some excellent results including a 20-foot-wide structure that assayed 10.58 grams per tonne. Drilling has intersected good grades and widths such as 6.1 metres grading 4 grams per tonne gold, 9.1 metres grading 4.7 grams per tonne gold, and 29 metres of just under 1 gram per tonne gold, each of these occurring in three different zones.

An underground channel from the 180–metre-long Little Squaw vein assayed an astounding 89 ounces per tonne of gold.

So there’s a lot of potential here, and the company’s exploration program is getting ramped up for a busy summer.

Besides this primary project, Little Squaw also has two other projects in the western hemisphere in prolific gold producing regions that are politically secure. These include the Broken Hills West property, which is 15 miles north of Gabbs in the Walker Lane Trend in Nevada, which has produced over 50 million ounces of gold so far, and the Pedra de Fogo project in Goias State, Brazil in the middle of a prolific gold mining region.

But these will be the subject of future articles, so keep your eyes open for more information on this little known, but outstanding opportunity.

Current Airfare Search Technology Is Inadequate
It’s a dirty little secret in the airfare search business, but consumers around the world waste millions of their hard-earned dollars by overspending on airfare because current airfare search technology is far from perfect.
Private Secluded Beach House For Rent.(Batangas City Philippines)

Phuket Budget information needed??

Me and my hubby are visiting to phuket in August for 3D/2N from Singapore. excluding the hotel and airfare cost…we have 14,000 thai baht in hand for the activities there. Both of us dont know to swim….so water activities are ruled out.
Planning to go for phang nga cruise which costs 5000 for 2 ppl. Now we are left with 9000 THB.
1.Please tell me how much is it going to cost for food (purely vegetarian…no egg, meat) recommend good hotels.
2. Half day City tour by a rented taxi
3. any other suggestions with the cost.

P.S. I have looked up the websites, and came to a decison abt phang nga cruise and city tour…but I wud like to know abt the place from the locals…coz they are the best ppl to ask.

Thanx in advance.

you can rent a tuk-tuk which is a small carriage type moped for 40 baht. Vegetarian food is fairly cheap….sometimes 10-50 baht depending on where you eat. You can always get really cheap massages and pedicures around 30 baht, but phuket is mainly water attractions. Good luck.

Money Saving Tips On Airfares

It is very important for consumers to do their homework when it comes to airfares in order that they may not overpay.

It is suggested to individually search airline sites for you to find exclusive deals and discounts. Private sales or promotions on airfares are being launched on their very own sites. Some airlines do not share information regarding their fare rates to third parties.

The various travel sites may have different fare rates so do not make an assumption that they have the same fares for the various airlines. Most especially on international flights, the differences could be several hundred dollars lower or higher; it really depends. So, you better check on all the popular travel sites and online agencies if possible.

Most sites have a flexible fare search and this can be helpful if the date you will be flying doesn’t matter. For instance, if it doesn’t matter for grandma if you will be visiting her on September instead of August you could probably save some money if you were to adjust your travel dates when fares are cheaper and lower since it is not peak season.

Combining weekend fares and great deals can be realized by people if they combine these fares on their itinerary. The fares of two airlines can be combined but just ensure that you provide an allowance for any delays that may occur.

Sign up for newsletters that may provide you with information with regards special fare rates and discounted or reduced prices. Such fare alerts will enable you to avail of promotional offers that could save you a lot of money on airfare.

Usually purchasing a package that includes the airfare plus the hotel can save you money instead of just purchasing the airfare and hotel accommodation alone. Such a package is ideal when there are two people traveling as most hotel rates are based on a double occupancy. This is practically perfect for a last-minute travel decision.

Reduced fare options can often be posted early morning or on weekends on airline websites. Usually such short promotional offers last only for a few hours as seats can actually sell quickly.

It would also be very much helpful if you check for rates as often as necessary. In the same way as the stock market is very much unpredictable, airfare rates can shoot up or shoot down. If you are that serious on saving precious dollars, have the persistence to regularly check everyday if possible.

Lastly, choose an airline that provides a refund for the difference in case the fare rate suddenly drops and you were able to purchase it at a much higher rate days before.

Airfare Questions:

Are the cheap airfares in Europe (Ryanair, EasyJet) available year round?

I just looked at Ryanair’s website where it seems their summer clearout sale is about to finish (3 May). We’re in the early planning stage of our trip to Europe in September and want to know if we need to lock in a Ryanair flight quickly.

Thing about Ryanair & Easyjet is the earlier u book , the cheaper it is.Prices usually go up higher as ur departure date draws close.SO if u already have the destinations confirmed, perhaps best book ur flights so that u get transportation done already?.Hope that helps.Maybe u can try the link below for nother option for budget air carriers?Cheers! :)

The real Airport Express and subway system in Beijing – Info for China vacations

This article is about the Airport Express and subway system in Beijing. You can find some useful information in it if you are planning your China vacations now.

The speed of the Beijing subway train is about 73.3 km / hour. Because the subway system of Beijing is very new and lots of new technologies are used to build it, most people believe that the Beiijing subway system should be advanced and convinient. But I find that this subway system is not convinient for the passengers and lots of time is wasted in the transfer stations, especially for the Line 13. I live in Beijing for almost 10 years and I think I can get a good understanding of the subway system of Beijing. (more info about the Beijing airfare, China vacations and Shanghai airfare at Travel2ChinaInfo Dot COM)

I will give an example here. It’s only 3 minutes’ ride from Jishuitan to Beijing north railway station. From the digital map, I got this info: (1). Take the Line 2 subway in Jishuitan and get off on Xizhimen. (2). Walk 150 meters and you will get to the Beijing north railway station. I decided to take the subway for this trip. At first, I thought that it will only cost me 10 minutes to get to my destination by subway. I entered the Entrance C of the Jishuitan station. There is no down escalator here and I have to walk down by myself. I am ok with this. But it will be a horrible experience for those passengers with big luggages. I took a train to Xizhimen. When I arrived at Xizhimen, I saw a direction board telling me to go to Exit A (for the Beijing north railway station). There are a lot of passengers in this subway station and you will see many people carrying big luggages here. But they have to walk up and down too in this subway station. (no escalator for the passengers who transfer to the Line 13 subway) You can imagine how hard this subway transfer could be for these people. This railway station is not just inconvenient for the passengers, it is very time consuming too. I entered the Jishuitan station on 14:02 and get to my destination – Beijing north railway station – on 14:40. Wow! 38 minutes! I spent only 5 minutes taking the subway train and the other 33 minutes was all used in the subway transfer. (many up and down stairs in the Xizhimen station)

The Xizhimen transfer station is a nightmare for most passengers but it will be nothing comparing with the Military Museum Station. You will have to get off in this station if you wanna go to the Beijing west railway station by subway. There is a subway station named “Beijing west railway station” in the blueprint of the Beijing subway system. But this station is not ready till today and all the passengers have to walk to the Beijing west railway station with their big luggages. To be honest, this is not a good choice. It is too far away from the Military Museum subway station to the Beijing West Railway Station and you will be exhausted if you choose to go there on foot. You’d better take a taxi or bus instead.(more info about the Shanghai airfare, China vacations and Beijing airfare at Travel2ChinaInfo Dot COM)

As I know, the Fuxinmen transfer station and Guomao transfer station are very time consuming too. In my point of view, the Beijing subway system is not very convinient if you have to do some transfers to get to your destination. These transfers will cost you too much time and energy. In this case, the taxi or bus will be better for you.

The Airport Express is designed for the passengers to the Beijing Capital Airport. But most people choose to take the airport bus now instead of this Airport Express subway line. I took this Airport Express once. It is not comparable with the Airport Express in Hongkong or Paris, although these two were built earlier. There is no place for big luggages in the train and you have to put your luggages in the aisle. When I get off at the Dongzhimen station, I was disappointed again. You will have to carry your big luggages by hand because there is no escalator here too just like the Xizhimen transfer station. I talked to the security guy and he told me that all the passengers from the airport have to use the stairs and he heard lots of complains about this issue. The transfer in the Dongzhimen station is very time consuming too. Because of this, you will spend more time to get to the Beijing Capital Airport if you choose to take this Airport Express subway, comparing with the airport bus. This Airport Express is more expensive too. It costs 25 rmb. But you will only need to pay 16 rmb for the airport bus. No wonder most people choose the airport bus now. (You can get more info about the Beijing airfare, China vacations and Shanghai airfare at Travel2ChinaInfo Dot COM) I heard that some people missed the plane because the delay of the Airport Express train. This “Express” subway line is not that fast in my point of view. Another disadvantage of this Airport Express is that the train will always get to the T3 terminal first, then go to the T2 terminal. If you are going to the T1 terminal, you will need to go to your destination on foot again !
