Using a Garrett or Bounty Hunter metal detector is easy but, just like other hobbies, getting the best results will take some time and practice.
Walk along slowly, moving the coil from side to side. Waving the coil slowly will allow you to detect deeper objects. As the search pattern for most coils is shaped like a cone a four inch search area at the surface will only be one inch at ten inches deep. Some detectors have a D shaped search area and will cover a larger area. The Minelab Exacalibur has this pattern. Go over the whole area once to remove any junk then you can repeat the search to find any targets that were masked by the junk.

When detecting in a new area search the whole area first without using discrimination in order to remove any junk. Then you can repeat the search to find targets that were being masked. Aluminium foil can easily be mistaken for gold and lots of other junk also sounds like treasure so it’s best to remove these before using discrimination. When the junk has been removed use a grid pattern to search for targets. Although you’ll end up doing a lot of digging to remove ll the junk first you will find treasure! You can use discrimination more when you are more experienced and familiar with your metal detector.
Fill in the Holes
Always fill in any holes you have dug before you leave the site. In addition to leaving the area as you found it this will also prevent other treasure hunters from knowing where you were digging.

Research shows that the amount of data around our persons increase with around 60 percent per year, and is driven by third generation internet like social network spaces and the increasing amount of surveillance cameras around the world, internet telephone and various access mechanisms produced.
The big increase may surprise you, but it leads us into the core of the challenge. The cost of storage is low so one does not bother to erase data, in case you will need it for something else later. It may not be legal, and the information becomes available outside your country borders, and there is very little you can do now.

We should care more about this aspect, and begin to ask regulators about where our privacy is protected and what is done to ensure that data collectors are regulated and that the security it taken care of for the citizens.

Kootenay Gold Hits a Home Run

In one of the very few bright spots in TSX Venture share performance, Kootenay Gold (TSX.V:KTN) shares jumped 52% on December 10th after the company announced widespread high-grade mineralization from a drill program at their 100% controlled Promintorio Silver Project in northwestern Mexico.
With intercepts like 18 meters grading 950 grams per tonne and 151 meters at 162 grams per tonne silver equivalent, all eyes are focused on the suddenly stellar Kootenay, whose success at Promintorio caps a year in which the company has seen major progress on a big chunk of its property portfolio.
But while the rich intercepts are what has driven the stock to new highs, CEO James McDonald is most interested in what the drill results are telling him from a large scale geological structure perspective.
“These results indicate that the individual breccias drilled in the first phase are part of a single, large mineralized system with distinct characteristics indicative of a porphyry system. Accordingly, drill data suggests the Promontorio may contain a deposit of larger scale and scope than previously conceived,” he said.
That’s his technical way of saying that limits to both the depth, length and width of the mineralized system have not yet been reached. It remains open in all directions.
I asked him if that meant that these breccias referred to in the press release were sitting on top of a porphyry system.
“The point is not that there is a porphyry underlying the breccias but that the breccias themselves are part of a porphyry system,” he replied. “This is evidenced by the potassic (biotite) and phyllic (sericite) alteration grading from a propylitic (calcite chlorite) alteration.”
Perspective is what its all about at Promintorio. Its important to bear in mind that the region surrounding Promintorio, while historically the focus of small scale mining, has suddenly emerged as a precious metals hotspot in the last five or six years.
Current estimates from projects within a 200 kilometer radius of Promintorio put over 15 million ounces of gold and more than 480 million ounces of silver in various categories of mineral resources.
Deposits like Minefineders (TSX:MFL) Dolores project, with over 3 million ounces of gold and 148 million ounces of silver, and Alamos Gold’s (TSX:AGI) Mulatos deposit, at 3.71 million ounces of gold , are turning the region into a primary mining district for Mexico.
Other companies contributing to the previously stated regional resource include Agnico-Eagle’s (TSX:AEM) Pinos Altos, (1.6 million ounces gold), Gammon Gold’s (TSX.V:GAM) Ocampo project (2.86 million ounces gold, 133 million ounces silver), Palmarejo Silver and Gold’s (TSX:PJO) million ounce namesake property, Goldcorp (NYSE:GG), Pan American Silver (TSX:PAA), Fronterra Copper (TSX:FCC) and Tyler Resources (TSX:TYS).
Another perspective to bear in mind is that this program tested only a small fraction of the 40,000 hectares that comprise the entire Promintorio project. The project recently surveyed by an electromagnetic survey shows a number of areas with potential in addition to the 500 meter by 2,000 meter mineralized trend of which only a 175 by 200 meter portion was just drilled.
Nobody I spoke to wanted to be quoted as to what the potential could be. The company prefers to let the results do the talking.
So what’s next?
Well, according Kootenay president Ken Berry, “Given the success of Phase I Drill results we anticipate Phase II to commence early in the new year. We have also initiated an IP Study to source additional priority targets over the 500 meter by 2000 meter structure. “
When asked if the company was going to need to raise more money for Phase 2, Ken Berry responded that the company has “just under $2 million in the treasury and warrants and options outstanding which would yield an additional $6.9 million upon exercise.”
Considering the recent strong share price performance, it would appear likely that a good number of those options and warrants will get exercised.
“All in all”, Ken continued, “these results confirm the historic grades. From surface to depth, mineralization is rich and suggest the Promontorio may contain a deposit of larger scope than previously conceived. A porphyry system could have the set up for the possibility of an open pit.”
“This area of Mexico (Sierra Madre Region) had no major producers six years ago, now there are five major producers each having multi-million oz reserves (gold equivalent). There’s also another four projects expecting to go into production in the next 3 or 4 years.”

What is the cheapest way to get discounted international airfare?
I’ve been trying the popular search engines like kayake and expedia but I’m trying to find a really good deal to fly to London from Omaha in November, I figured since it was the off season and its soo far away I can try to get the best deal?
A couple of basic tips: search for mid-week flights and always select the (+ or – 3 days) option when they have it available. A day can make a lot of difference.
Specific to your trip though, one tip I would offer when flying from smaller airports, (and yes I’d count Omaha as such) is to check flights from the nearest large airport to London. Then, you can often book a seperate round-trip flight to and from Omaha from that larger airport.
Since larger airports have much more competition for common international destinations like London; you’ll often find much better fares.
Here is an example for you: If there are 5 major international carriers who fly to London from Chicago daily, you’ll find a lot of competition between them to gain passengers. If on the other hand only 2 of those airlines fly into (or have partner airlines which do) Omaha: you will be reduced to the two choices out of Omaha when booking. They know you only have 1 or 2 choices and they will price accordingly.
If one of the other airlines (not flying to Omaha) has a sale or much discounted flight cost from Chicago to London, you’ll never see it when searching online for tickets. Because it amounts to you needing 2 seperate round-trip tickets (Omaha-Chicago and then Chicago-London).
I know that British Air has some pretty decent fares and is currently trying to increase their American market. Additionally, they have a really interesting fare which is between coach and business, called WorldTraveler Plus I think. It has a few more amenities, more leg room and upgraded service. It isnt very much more than basic coach and trust me on a long haul flight it is well worth it if you can manage it.

By taming a wild bear, your Wow Hunter would be able to learn the pet ability “Claw”. Not every cat will know the Prowl skill and not every bear will know the Claw skill. There are different types of cats like there are different kinds of bears. Specific wild animals will know specific skills and abilities as well as higher levels of the different skills and abilities.
A good rule of thumb to follow here is: The tougher the wild animal, the tougher the skills or abilities you can learn from it. If you do tame a wild animal with a skill or ability that you want to learn, it will not come to you automatically. For you to learn the Prowl skill from a cat you just tamed, you will first need to ascertain if the cat has the skill and if it does, you must use the cat and his Prowl skill as often as possible in battle. When you have finally learned the skill or ability, a message will pop-up on the screen stating “You have learned the Prowl skill”. Instead of having a pets essential Strength and Stamina stats, Caster pets use the unnecessary High Spirit and Intellect stats. There are a couple of ways to identify a Caster pet. If they have any magical abilities or they have a “Mana Bar” prior to taming them, it is most likely a Caster pet.
Now that you have had a brief overview of the pets available to the WoW Hunter class, let us study the two standard and most popular types of pets, the tank pets or the DPS Pets. In case you want or need your pet to do various things, perhaps the strongest selection for you is to go for the well-rounded pets, which are more generalized in their abilities and functions. Bears and boars are by far the strongest choice for Tanking. As boars and bears are easier to feed, they appear to be mere common Hunter’s pets. For Tanking, if you are looking for a pet with great endurance, then choosing a turtle sounds like a good idea.
Cats are thought to be the best overall selection when selecting a Hunters pet for DPS or fighting ability. The reasons why cats make the most powerful and best WoW Hunter’s pet is because they can master several powers rather quickly, they are easier to feed and can damage enemies in various and innovative ways. In addition to cats, you could also pick out ravagers, owls, wind serpents and spiders for fighting abilities, although my own personal favorite killing machines are raptors. Raptors will rip the face right off your enemy, chew it up and spit it out. So, if you’re feeling especially gory, raptors are the way to go.
Now, talk briefly about a very important subject regarding your World of Warcraft Hunter’s pets. What I want to talk about is the maintenance of your pets. Let me start by saying “Pets require a lot of maintenance.” It’s your job to keep your pet happy and to keep your pet happy you are going to need to keep it well fed, continuously level them up and teach them new skills. Not only will this plan of attack keep your pet happy, but it will also benefit you as well with a well trained and more powerful pet.

Unhappy – This is the lowest level of happiness that your pet can be. Unhappy is also how you begin your relationship with your pet after you tame them. You can tell if your pet is unhappy by the frowning red face next to your pets portrait.
Content - When your pet is content, it will dish out damage at 100% as well as gain loyalty at a slow rate. You can tell if your pet is content by the yellow smiley face next to your pets portrait.
Happy - A happy pet will gladly slaughter your enemy by inflicting 125% damage upon them. Your pet also gains loyalty very quickly while in this happy state. You can tell if your pet is happy by the green smiley face next to your pets portrait. Obviously, this is where we want to keep our pet.

Your pet’s Loyalty is a very important stat that affects a couple of other key areas dealing with your World of Warcraft pet. Here are the six levels of loyalty: Rebellious, Unruly, Submissive, Dependable, Faithful and Man’s Best Friend. There is no hidden secret here. The longer you keep your pets happy, the more loyal it will become towards your WoW Hunter class character.
The higher your pet is on the loyalty ladder, the less food will be needed to keep your pet happy. This next bit of information is important so please pay attention. Each and every new loyalty level increase made by your pets results in points being given to you so you can train your WoW Hunter pets. Conversely, it all works in reverse too. For instance, if you fail to keep your pet happy, it will lose loyalty. If you are constantly getting your pet killed or failing to feed it properly, there is a chance your pet may run away.
WoW Hunter Pet Guide – About Feeding Your WoW Hunter’s Pets
In order to increase your pets happiness, it will take more than just feeding it. You will need to feed it something it enjoys eating. To see what your pet prefers to eat, click on your profile to open it up then click on your pet tab and locate the green smiley icon with your mouse pointer. Now that you know what your WoW Hunter’s pet likes to eat, make sure you feed it enough to keep it happy and loyal. Each time your pet levels, his preferred diet will increase, and if you continue to feed him the amount he was eating prior to leveling up, he will gain happiness at a much slower rate, while feeding your pet the correct amount will allow it to acquire a great amount of happiness. So, make it a habit to click on your pet’s tab often.
WoW Hunter Pet Guide – How To Feed Your WoW Hunter’s Pets
1. Click on the “Feed Pet” Icon.
2. Click on the food you wish to feed your pet.
3. Allow your pet enough time to eat the food (about 10 seconds).
If you do not allow your pet ample time to finish its food prior to clicking on the “Feed Pet” icon again will only waste the food you previously fed it. All of the happiness left on the previous piece of food will be lost.
WoW Hunter Pet Guide – Training Your WoW Hunter’s Pets
In the World of Warcraft there are a couple of ways available for you to feed your pet. One way is by taking your pet over to a “Pet Trainer”. You can find the Pet Trainer over by your Hunter’s Class Trainer. The name Pet Trainer is somewhat of a misnomer. The Pet Trainer will teach you new skills and abilities on how to buff up your WoW Hunter’s pet with Health, Armor and/or Attack skills. These skills and abilities are put into your spell book, not on the pet. If you ever change pets, you won’t have to locate the Pet Trainer when your new pet is able to use the skills and abilities.
The other way for you to learn additional pet skills and abilities is by taming wild animals. For your Hunter to learn the pet abilities “Prowl” and “Claw”, he would have to tame a wild cat. By taming a wild bear, your Wow Hunter would be able to learn the pet ability “Claw”. Not every cat will know the Prowl skill and not every bear will know the Claw skill. There are different types of cats like there are different kinds of bears. Specific wild animals will know specific skills and abilities as well as higher levels of the different skills and abilities.
A good rule of thumb to follow here is: The tougher the wild animal, the tougher the skills or abilities you can learn from it. If you do tame a wild animal with a skill or ability that you want to learn, it will not come to you automatically. For you to learn the Prowl skill from a cat you just tamed, you will first need to ascertain if the cat has the skill and if it does, you must use the cat and his Prowl skill as often as possible in battle. When you have finally learned the skill or ability, a message will pop-up on the screen stating “You have learned the Prowl skill”. Now that you have learned the Prowl ability, you no longer need of that particular cat to use it. You can now use it on any tamed Hunter’s pet you want.
WoW Hunter Pet Guide – Training Your WoW Hunter’s Pet
Now that you have learned some skills and abilities from taming wild animals or the Pet Trainer it’s time to teach them to your favorite pet. If you don’t already have him out, take the pet you want to train out of your stable of pets. Now open up your spell book and click on the general tab where you will open up your Beast Training ability. There you will find out how many training points you have available along with all of the WoW Hunter pet abilities and skills you have learned. The training points are used for purchasing new abilities and skills. These are the training points you get as bonuses when your loyalty goes up. So, make sure your pets are very happy so your loyalty goes up and you get training points to use. Easy, isn’t it?
Next, you’ll want to choose a skill or ability you want your pet to learn along with the rank of that skill or ability. Remember, not all pets can learn every skill or ability. For instance, while all bears can learn Claw, boars can’t. Also, higher rank skills and abilities cost more points and if you teach your pet a skill or ability with a high rank, you won’t be able to teach it any of the lower ranks of the same skill or ability. Sometimes, a lower ranked skill will be all your Hunter’s pet needs to get the job done. That’s all there is to it. For many Hunter’s, the fun part is planning on what skills and abilities will be needed to make the ultimate super pet, then going out and taming the beasties who have the skills and abilities on my list, then putting my super-pet together and see how it performs.

I haven’t flown anywhere in a few years; airfares were low last time I traveled…I’ve been looking at prices for a trip I’ll be taking next June, and also another upcoming trip next august; the fares are so much higher than the last time I flew…has anyone heard anything about where airfare costs may be headed over the next 6 months? the last time i traveled, there were nothing but low fares…will that be happening again anytime soon?

World Class Accommodations
Lake Creek is a clear, gravel-bottom river that flows approximately 65 miles south from its headwaters near Mt. McKinley to its mouth at the confluence of the glacial Yentna River. A short 35 minute floatplane flight from Anchorage is all that stands between you and the world-renowned fishing of Lake Creek. The lodge is located approximately 55 miles northwest of Anchorage in the remote Alaskan wilderness and is only accessible by boat or floatplane.

After a long, satisfying day on the river, nothing refreshes you more than a hot and relaxing shower located near the guest cabins in the bathhouse. Four large bathrooms are equipped with sink and shower – along with hot and cold running water and electricity (which is generated by the lodge’s own power plant). Wildlife Viewing
Our fly outs are a photographer’s dream. Be sure to bring extra film for our trips. You usually don’t have to try real hard to see wildlife in the Lake Creek area. We would be happy to either drive you around in the boat or we can schedule a flight seeing trip directly from the lodge (great aerial viewing).
Commonly seen are moose, fox, wolf, beaver and a wide assortment of birds including eagles, owls, ducks, geese and much more…
The fishing
All fishing is guided 3 or 4 clients per guide depending on time of year and water levels. This ensures that each client receives the personal attention he/she deserves. All 5 species of Pacific salmon run Lake Creek at different times of the year (see chart below). Rainbow Trout, Grayling and Northern Pike can be caught year round. You can choose to fly fish or to spin or bait cast depending on the time of year and proven methods. Our guide will do everything in his power to put you into the fish of a lifetime. Lake Creek starts at the base of Mount McKinley and runs 65 miles to the Yentna River. It is a clear, gravel-bottom river where all species of Pacific Salmon flock to spawn each year. Our lodge sits approximately 1.5 miles from the mouth of Lake Creek.
