I am traveling to Taiwan this summer from Texas? Can anyone give me tips on cheap airfare and stuff to see?

It will be the end of the summer like late August/September. We are visiting friends so we have a place to stay and someone to show us around.

I usually take Singapore Airlines to Taipei from LAX, and I have gotten this airfare for a little over $700. However, you will be travelling from Texas so I do not know if there are direct flights from Texas or if you will be changing planes in either L.A., S.F., or Seattle. I have flown China Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, EVA Airways, and Singapore Airlines to Taipei, all from LAX, and my favorite is still SQ (Singapore) by far. Just do some searching, preferably on the airline’s website itself rather than going through a Yahoo! Farechase or something like that. You can usually find cheaper flights this way. Also, look at trying to leave during a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday and returning midweek to see if you get a cheaper flight. Have a great time in Taiwan! You will love it =)

It regards to things to see, I am one who loves to see nature. Being from L.A., I can see Chinese people everywhere anyways and big tall buildings so I don’t need to travel 7,000 miles over the Pacific to see that, lol. I know, it’s different when you’re overseas but I have always enjoyed a 2.5 hour train ride down south to Hualien to visit Taroko Gorge. I find it absolutlely beautiful. Also, go to Jiufen–take the train from Taipei Main Station to Ruifang and then get on the bus across the street from the Ruifang Station and travel up the mountain to beautiful Jiufen. The night markets are a sight not to miss! Great food! Remember to try some “chou dou fu.” Have a blast, man!

How to Get Cheap Flights to Las Vegas

There are many ways to get cheap flights. If you are planning a trip to Vegas you will probably want to save some many for the many activities the city offers. The good news is that you have many opportunities to get cheap flights to Las Vegas.

Firstly, you should try to book your tickets in advance. The further in advance that you buy your tickets the cheaper they are likely to be. Most people believe that if you buy your tickets three weeks before take off you will get the lowest price. Booking your tickets in advance is a great way to get cheap flights to Las Vegas.

But sometimes, a Vegas trip might come up at the last minute. There are still many ways to save on tickets. First, try to check the search engines. These ticket sources can help you compare many different airline ticket prices.

But booking two one way trips can be a great way to get cheap flights to Las Vegas.

Which US airline is best for flight Washington – Las Vegas?

Hi!

I’m planning a trip to the US in July and have started looking at the flights that I will take there. The plan includes a flight from Washington to Las Vegas. As an European who has never before been to the USA I’m wondering which airline should I fly? I want a reasonable price but I also don’t want extremely bad service. I’ve been looking at AirTran but am not sure how good it is. So I’m asking for advice.

Thanks in advance!

Most of the airlines here in the U.S. are about the same in terms of service. Overall, the discount airlines such as JetBlue, Southwest, AirTran score higher in terms of customer satisfaction. Assuming Washington means Washington D.C and not Washington State, if you are willing to fly out of Baltimore which is an airport close to Washington D.C., you can take Southwest Airlines. Southwest Airlines boards passengers differently than other airlines. There are no assigned seats on Southwest Airlines so where you find seat that is empty, that is where you can sit.

If you only want a non-stop flight, you may want to look at United Airlines. They fly out of Washington Dulles which would be the airport you would arrive in flying from Europe, again assuming you are flying into Washington D.C. The service on United is average. Don’t expect any meal service so you may want to eat before you board or bring your meal on board with you.

Airfare Brisbane To Sydney

airfare brisbane to sydney

Where is a good place to go backpacking in the USA?

For say 2-3 weeks. And about how much will it cost without airfares? I’m from Australia.

When I went to Brisbane from Sydney, I stayed in a backpackers lodge overnight. And I felt safe leaving my suitcase in my room, and I only took a small bag to walk around Brisbane, with my keys to my room and the usual stuff you’d take walking around for a couple of hours (nothing was stolen). Can you do the same in the USA, or are there too many dishonest people? It sounds naive, I know. The other people in my room were 2 German tourists and they were nice people.

The US doesn’t really have the type of lodges and hostels you probably stayed in in Brisbane. Here we have the choice of hotels (probably the exact same chains you have in Sydney, like Hilton), road-side motels, and, mostly on the east coast, bed and breakfasts. Motels are cheaper because they don’t offer services, just a room and a bathroom, by the night or the week. Bed and breakfast lodging is more like a hostel, one large home with the rooms for rent. The owners prepare at least some of the meals, to which the guests are invited. There are a lot of these on the east coast, but I hear they’re getting more popular, with quite a few springing up on the west coast, as well.

How much it costs varies greatly depending on what part of the US. The least expensive places are the south, south-west, and mid-west, especially the rural areas and small towns. Larger cities are more expensive. The east and west coasts are more expensive in general, with the cities being quite expensive, in comparison.

Security is about the same in any of the three lodging facilities. You get your own room and your own key. You leave your luggage in the room when you go out, it’s not a problem. You don’t want to leave your money, jewelry, or electronics in the room, because they are always some dishonest people. The facility will have a safe for you to stash these things in while you’re out, or just keep them with you.

People in the south and mid-west are very welcoming, friendly people. People from the larger cities tend to keep to themselves more, but I’ve found the vast majority to be good folks, even in NYC, which has a reputation for rudeness, people are nice and will definitely lend a hand to those who need it. The US is the same as most of the world, ninety percent of the people are honest, and about ten percent aren’t. There is a problem here with some tourist areas having higher crime rates. If you plan to visit high-tourist areas like the beaches in Florida, the Disney resorts, etc, you’ll want to be extra careful of your safety and your possessions. Also, these places are the most expensive, and the most crowded.

I agree that Stone Mountain, in Georgia, is one of the most beautiful places to hike and camp. It’s a mountain forest climate. Also lovely, the Appalachian area; drier, but also forested hills, and mountains. (Bonus: also one of the least expensive areas of the US.) I’ve not been to the south-west, but I understand the Grand Canyon area is also beautiful. It’s an aired climate. It will really depend on what type of climate you’re interested in, and what time of year you will be going. You can’t get through the Appalachian mountains in the winter without a snowmobile, for instance.

So, if you give these ideas on cost, climate, and time some thought, and have some futher questions on the subjects, feel free to email. I’ve been everywhere else myself, and have some kin out west I can quiz, so I’ll try and come up with some answers for ya! Bon voyage! :)

Airfare Questions:

10 pts if you can help me find cheap flight tickets?

I need to book a 3-week long roundtrip vacation from London to Toronto.

Preferable dates would be June 30-July 22…something around that time, July-August is okay too as long as it’s 2.5-3 weeks.

Airports for London are Gatwick or Heathrow; Pearson or Toronto Island for Toronto.

So far I’ve found £357 airfare from www.dial-a-flight.com and £428 from Air Transat, so I’m looking for cheaper than that. Keep in mind the currency is pounds (which is approx. double the canadian dollar value)!

Thanks in advance if you can help!!!!! :)

If you found a fare of 357 in GPB with all taxes included your are doing great…I would grab that up quick!!!. And its the Taxes that bring the price up so much. I found a fare on OneTravel.com the Base fare was 241 GBP but the taxes were 279.53 so the total was 520. I didn’t find anything as low as you got. I went on to my Airlines website and the lowest total i could find was 601 with a all taxes included.
I wish I was at work…then I could check all airlines for you.

Sorry, I wish I could have found something lower for you.

Benefits Of Cheap Flights

Andrea Patterson asked:

Ever thought of benefits of cheap flights? You may have a thousand reasons for traveling from one place to another- it could be a vacation with your family, a honeymoon trip or even a business trip. Whatever the reason, you always want to save on travel. Because the more you save, the more money you’ll have at your disposal during the trip. Cutting down travel costs will be definitely a part of your agenda if you’re a typical low- budget traveler, adventurous but thrifty by nature. Now airlines all over the world offer cheap flight rates and this means you can make the most out of your love for travel. The only reason why air travel has gained more popularity in the last few years is the fact that they offer flights that people can afford. If you look around on the internet you will notice a sharp decrease in the cost of air travel in recent years. Cheap air travel is now a reality that anyone can take advantage of.

It is not surprising that most people nurture the wish to travel to distant lands, to countries far-off. Sadly, they need to reconsider their travel plans since flight rates are way too high. But that was then, a few years back. Today most airlines have cheap options for the budget conscious air traveler. And finding cheap flights is easier than ever before since so many booking engines and sites have started operating. This, in turn, has also increased competition levels between different airlines and they have been forced to bring down their prices. And we as consumers receive the benefits of this increased competition in the form of cheap flight fares.

Benefits of cheap flights are many in number and the most important is perhaps the cost- cutting feature. Through cheap flights, air travel becomes cheaper not just for vacationers and honeymooners but also individuals who are required to fly often. If you’re one among them, it is obvious that you’ll try to decrease your expenditure. In situations like this, there’s no better option than a cheap air ticket. Now consider a situation where you haven’t had the time to make your air travel booking on time. If you go for a regular airline, you’ll have to pay a fortune even if it is a short distance that you need to cover. Cheap flights come to your rescue at such times. This is one of the most important benefits of cheap flights. For those heading overseas on a vacation, cheaper flights means you can spend more money on your holiday. So why not save on air fares and put the money towards having fun on your vacation.

Want more benefits of cheap flights? You can search for cheap flights online. Through the web you’ll not only be able to find the cheapest rates but also will be able to compare airfare rates. You’ll also get to avail discounted rates on air travel to specific locations on certain website. But when you’re looking for cheap flights make sure that you go through all the details carefully. Check the flight schedule to the last detail. The small print is important and your negligence can land you in rather sticky situations!

Cheapest airline tickets from California to Asia?

I’m planning a trip to go to Asia with my friends. How much would be the cheapest plane ticket to go to the Asian countries? We are in a tight budget and prefer to go to very cheap countries like Thailand, Philippines, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Bangladesh. I know prices may depend on the month, so when is the cheapest time to buy tickets? If you have a place you prefer, please do. Thanks.

You will have to shop around on the internet to get the best prices from Ca, the further out you book your ticket the cheaper you can get it…..

Wouldnt bother trying to book all your tickets for your trip just the one to the first port of call and your return leg back to Ca (assume here you will be flying in and out of the same airport to and from CA)

Inter-SEA flights are pretty cheap if you fly AirAsia etc and would think booking those flights once you are here would be the best bet..

Search Airfare Deals

search airfare deals
search airfare deals

Where to Find the Hidden Airfare Bargains

If your schedule is flexible enough, or you really rely on luck to give you some of the best deals for airfare, you can get some great travel deals. The deals are there because airlines and hotels would rather receive something for a seat that would normally be empty so if you know where to look, you can get some great discounts and find a hidden airfare bargain (up to 70% off retail price). So where does the dollar conscious traveler look to get such great deals?

One of the best places to look for great deals is online. The Internet is a great clearinghouse for last minute travel packages that include hotel, air, and car as well. Sometimes some of these travel packages contain tickets to amusement parks as well and it depends upon the package and the time of year.

The first website to look for secret airfare deals is lastminute.com. This site is organized by activity and by resource need. You can find last minute deals on just about every aspect of your vacation including the airfare. You can also find whole vacation packages that allow you to get even more discounts. There is one nice feature for those that like to make reservations at the very last minute, and that is the “last second deals” selection. The searches are quite organized and will give you a choice of hotels and flights if you are booking a combination.

The next website that will give you some info on secret airfare deals is lastminutetravel.com. Like lastminute.com, lastminutetravel.com allows you to purchase hotel, airfare, car rental cruises, or vacation package deals. Unlike lastminute.com, it doesn’t have the special “last second deals” option, however my guess is that it just folded all the offers into the other choices. From a marketing standpoint, I think it was a good idea to separate out the fire sales and the slow moving inventory to put a spotlight on those deals. I would love to see the analytics of the lastminute.com site.

Lastminutetravel.com also has a feature called “last minute deals in advance”, which works in a slightly different way than the lastminute.com‘s “last second deals”. Here, the “last minute deals in advance” are just spotlighted deals that you can book at any time. There may not be any additional discounts for these deals.

The last website called lastminutetraveller.com focuses on more of a vacation getaway experience. Their flight deals are bundled with hotel, vacation, or retreat packages. The traveler to be would come to this site looking for a way to get a vacation experience for the least amount possible. The site also includes international travel as well as off-beat out of the way places. This site caters to a narrower group of travelers who are looking for secret airfare deals or cheap discounted international airfare.

If you know the places to look, you can find very discounted deals on airfare, especially if you bundle the airfare with a hotel or vacation package. The rise of last minute travel has caused many websites that focus on travel within 14 days to sprout up. In most cases, last minute travel is very expensive, but if you are willing to wait and see what is available within 2 days, you can find some amazing airfare deals. This is good for those who are looking for airfare discounts for college students or starving artists as well. For even more flexibility in your choices and deeper discounts, you will need to know the deeper held secrets of air travel.

Will someone explain to me what the point of the travel websites are when the prices look like this:?

jeannette2780 asked:

I went to several different websites, searching the exact same dates, using Continental Airlines in all my searches as they were the cheapest of all the airlines, in most cases the exact same flight from West Palm Beach Florida to Newark NJ …and it seems to me that these travel websites are not saving money at all.

continetal.com-$128.00+$19.30=$147.30
expedia.com-$114.41 + $31.29=$150.70
orbitz.com -$127.99+ $24.30=152.29
cheaptickets-$127.99+$23.29=$151.28
travelation-$104.41 + $63.29=$170.68
cheapoair $104.41 + $62.28=$170.69
priceline – $148.05 + $30.90 =$178.00
airfare – $134.06 + $38.24=$172.30

In theory we are paying these services to negotiatelower plane ticket prices with the airline companies. Then, the charge the consumer more in fees for the discount…which saves them absolutly nothing. The purpose of business is to create value to the consumer…where’s the value?
