Airfare Sales Today

Online Cash Back Shopping Continues To Generate Impressive Retail Growth
SAN FRANCISCO—-Ebates, the pioneer and leader in online cash back shopping, today released an online retail report, showing that cash back shopping continues to grow from strength to strength.
Today’s Cruise Deal-Dec 19

How and why do airfares change on a daily basis?

Two days ago I looked up a flight to Sweden from the US and it was $450. Today I looked up the same one and it was $770. How could it have changed so quickly? My friend said she thought a sale was going on for July 4, but I never saw any sign of that. Is there any chance it could go back down to less than $500, what sites are trusted and best to use when buying airplane tickets, and should I wait or buy now?
By the way this flight is in May 2011, and it’s a one-way ticket.
Any suggestions are appreciated!

Demand, availability and airline competition – as simple as that -
And you might have paid $770 for your ticket last month.
Today, you travel, the guy in the seat next to you paid $399…

Airfare On Sale

Airfare Questions:

find the sum of 40 percent of 1/4 and 50 percent of 1/10 [[thanks very much]]?

that was number one, try these too
number 2 i need a new cd player for mi room. the store has one for sale at 25% discount. the sale price is $79. how much money am i saving? plz be dscriptive

3. on his business trip, tims expenses for food and lodging were $400 less than three times the cost of his air fair. if he spent $800 in all, wat was his airfare? be descriptuve

4. on one roll of die, wat are the odd in favor of getting a number less than 4? be descriptive

THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO TRIED

Mikey got it all right. But to elaborate on the first answer, there are several ways to solve. This is an easy way for me: 40% is the same as 4/10, so multiply 4/10 and 1/4, and you get 4/40 which reduces to 1/10. Do the same with the other
(5/10 times 1/10) and you get 1/20. Find the least common denominator (20 in this case) and add 2/20 and 1/20 to get the answer — 3/20

Oops–missed something first time around: The SALE price is $79. Which means that the equation you are looking for is:

let X = pre-sale price
x – .25x = 79
.75x=79
x=105.33
So you are saving $26.33

Discount Airfares To Australia: How To Get Low-cost Tickets

David Faulkner asked:

Australia has always been a popular destination for tourists from all over the globe. But in recent years, the tourism industry has risen tremendously. A lot of the credit for this goes to the Summer Olympics that were held in Sydney in 2000. Since then, tourism revenues in Australia reach an impressive $10 billion each year.

So what makes Australia such a popular tourist destination?

Most of the tourists head to Australia to experience the world-famous Great Barrier Reef in Queensland, see the wildlife in the Kakadu National Park, and take a peek at the architectural splendor of the Sydney Opera House. Outdoor enthusiasts also enjoy the surfing at the famous beaches of Brisbane, Sydney and Cairns.

Many people wrongly assume that a visit to Australia is only meant for the more affluent traveler, as transportation expenses can be quite high. While this is generally true, there are also discount airfares to Australia that make it possible for practically anyone to visit this beautiful country – you just have to know where and how to look.

There are actually many places where you can avail of discount airfares to Australia. The most common is the Internet. In this age of technology, you can get almost anything you need just by a few clicks of the mouse. This includes discount airfares to Australia as well.

Tens of thousands of websites offer discount airfares to Australia. You have to be very discriminating in choosing which website you want to buy your tickets from. Many websites actually have scheming companies behind them who are using false advertising to lure customers into their traps. Most of the time, they are not displaying the real deal on their web pages.

In order to avoid being victimized by these companies, it is highly important to read all the fine print on the websites before submitting your credit card information to them to buy your discount airfares to Australia.

Another option is to go directly to the airline companies. They also offer discount airfares to Australia and other places in the world, but the savings you will get might be lower than if you purchased your tickets from a discount website.

Of course, if you want to stay away from all the hassles of preparing your trip, you can just pay a travel agent to do all the hard work for you. With most travel agencies, you can be assured that they will be able to find you great deals on discount airfares to Australia. All you have to do is unwind, relax, and dream of the fun time you will have down under.

Another thing you may try when looking for discount airfares is typing in various keywords, like wholesale, cheap, discount, special airfares. These different words may net you travel sites on the internet that you have never seen before that offer even better deals than those advertising on television. There are many ways to find discount airfares. The key is to know where to look as well as taking the time to research a few things. Time is precious so when we can find a site that we are happy with it is important to remember that for the next trip.

Cheap Airl Tickets – Flying On A Shoestring

1. If you fly frequently, consider joining a frequent flyer program.

Frequent flyer programs can offer long-term discounts, so don’t always buy the cheapest ticket. Once you factor in the free tickets that you eventually qualify for, you could end up saving money. This is an especially good strategy for those who often fly overseas – how many trips to Singapore would it take to accumulate enough frequent flyer miles to get a free domestic ticket?

2. Check the airlines’ own websites

Don’t restrict yourself to the major airlines. Some regional and national carriers offer cheap airfare. China Airlines, for example, might offer cut-rate airfare to Beijing.

3. Check the online travel agencies

Expedia and Orbitz are among the most popular. Travel agents purchase air tickets at a discount by buying in bulk from the airlines, so they can often offer you cheaper rates than the airlines.

4. Be flexible.

Cheap airfares are often available only on certain days and require you to stay a certain minimum time.

5. Try the small agents in ethnic enclaves.

If you live in a big city and want a ticket to Japan, for example, go to Little Tokyo and check out the small agencies. If you want to go to Rome, check out Little Italy. I have purchased round trip tickets from Los Angeles to Tokyo for as little as US$500.

6. Book in advance.

Tickets booked in advance are normally cheaper than last minute purchases.

7. Buy from an air courier service.

Air courier services are companies that buy your luggage allowance in exchange for discounted tickets. Although they are the cheapest tickets available, they are usually reserved for international travel. Please note, however, that you may only bring carry-on luggage.

8. Become a student.

An International Student ID Card will get you lots of places cheap.

9. Offer to pay your way aboard an unregistered cargo plane by cleaning toilets and mopping the deck (bring along a parachute and you can stop anywhere you like – for the very adventurous only!).

When is airfare to Manila, Philippines cheapest? (LAX to MLA)?

hey there. I live in LA area and I always take philippine airlines just because they dont give you hassle on your baggages when you get to Manila. But anyways, the cheapest should be from the end of January till end of May. Then starts from end of Aug till end of November. Last year when i went around Sept I paid $801 w tax round trip PAL but now i believe its $860 rt bec of gas prices is higher. Also Cathay Pacific is cheap but you have to go through Philippine Travel agency to get better deal. China air and eva air is cheap too.. Go to a Filipino store and get some Philippine newspaper and they should have phone #’s for travel agencys, you get better deal by buying your ticket through them. Also they tell you which airlines is cheaper.
