ISLAMABAD (August 02 2010): The Private Power Infrastructure Board (PPIB) has warned the government that AES, Pakistan’s 1000-1200 MW imported coal integrated port and power project, to be established at Gadani, may not take off as the Chinese contractors are reluctant to initiate work due to travel advisory, official sources told Business Recorder.

What is the best/cheapest way to fly from the US to Australia and/or New Zealand?
I am hoping to take a trip out to both Australia and New Zealand in the next year or two. I live in Chicago. Does anyone have any idea of the best way to fly down there for the most reasonable price? And how much I can expect to reasonably pay for my airfare? Thanks!
I flew from LA to Auckland in September and it cost me around 1000 dollars including taxes. Quantas is a great company to fly with, I did not have any trouble. They also offer pretty cheap fligths between NZ and AU. You can find great deals on airfare at cheapoair.com. Planning ahead will also make a big difference in the price of your ticket. The sooner you know when you want to go the better, just like flying domestic it is cheaper to book ahead of time. Esp since flying into Auckland, NZ isnt something that you can always find in the last min flight deal section. You could always try a last min flight to sydney, would prob be cheaper. Just like when flying in the US, do not fly out on weekend, wed is usually one of the cheapest days to fly, and if you leave the US on a friday to head to NZ, you will be ther just in time for the NZ weekend, since you loose a day of travel when you cross the international date line.
I hope this can be of some help. But overall, just keep your eye out, plan ahead, and save up a bit of cash, because no matter how you fly, its gonna cost you something.

I want to plan just a 3-4 day trip for my boyfriend and I for New Years Eve. I have always wanted to experience the ball dropping and all the people, all that jazz. My mom flies between ELP and DEN all the time because my parents live in Colorado and my grandma lives in El Paso (where we are originally from).
Anyways, she always flies Frontier because they have the best prices and non-stop flights. Most of the other airlines (Southwest, United) have between 1-2 layovers and makes the trip take a minimum of 5 hours for a flight that should only be 1.5-2 hours.
Here’s a few tips that will help you get a better price:
–With Frontier, book online as they charge a $20 fee for using the phone operators.
– Try to fly on the least popular days: Tuesday, Wednesday or Saturday.
– Remember that Saturday night stays are usually required for most bargain airfares.
– Try to select the least popular flight times: mid-morning or late evening.
– Try to book as far in advance as possible. Generally try to purchase your tickets at least 21 days in advance of departure. Many airlines also have specials requiring three-, seven- or 14-day advance purchase.
–Consider booking tickets that come with restrictions because they also come with a cheaper price tag.
–Be as flexible as possible with your dates.
