Complete Travel Arranger for the Maldives?

I am considering a scuba diving vacation from Toronto (Canada) to the Maldives and am looking for input on some of the best “full service travel arrangers”. I am looking to connect with travel arrangers that can put a complete package together including all airfare, all required transfers and many options for resorts. Does anybody out there have any suggestions? Next year I will either be in Phuket or Maldives.

Thank you for your help.

I have looked at the following so far:

http://www.maldivesholidayoffers.com/index.php and http://www.the-complete-maldives-holiday-guide.com/index.html

all the local travel companies book only hotels and resort. that means you will need to book your flight for yourself. or through another agent. even if you buy seperately both it will be reasonable. if you plan to book both airfair and resort than you will need to book through either expedia or travel agent in canada who offer maldives.

Airfare Deals?

Hi,
I am looking for a deal to India from Pittsburgh. I checked today in various sites and the price ranges from 1350 to 1700.

From which month (July/Aug/Sep) can I expect cheap Airfare for my travel.? Also could you please let me know some websites or travel agents contact details who can offer cheap tickets.

Thanks
The destination city is from Pittsburgh, USA to Chennai, India.

Without the specific citys its impossible to give you accurate info on rates. Indias big and Delhi is a long way from Mumbai.
here is a blog that I give for this type of question. It covers most of the bases of cheap tickets. Have fun.

There are several ways to get the best airfare:
Try one of the big companies: Travelocity.com., Kayak.com or Expedia.com. The advantage to them is that they show many different airlines and the cheapest prices for both the specific date you want to fly and the dates surrounding that date. In case your plans are flexible. The disadvantage is that you are locked into the fare dates. If you want to change a date due to injury or an emergency, their fees can be extreme.
My personal method it to use Kayak as my initial check on fares and dates. I generally start at least a month in advance when looking for a ticket. The nice thing about kayak is that it hooks you up directly to the airline. Hence… you don’t get locked too deeply into one of the big three that charge up the wazoo for rescheduling. Then after I have figured one or two flights that are at the right times and right prices. In the upper left corner of the Kayak screen there is a feature that says “ track fares by email”. It’s referred to as Fare tracker and it really helps. Sign into this feature and it will update you daily on the changes in airfare. At least once in the month you are going to be able to find a fare that is usually a couple of hundred dollars less than what you have been quoted in the first place. A very cool feature.
Also, check out currentcodes.com and naughtycodes.com. these two sites have discount codes for some of the airlines and can save you some real money if you catch a special at the right time. They have discount codes for just about everything including airfares and Cruises. Not to mention coupon type codes for many stores and services.
If that is not what you want or you are in more of a hurry, then…
Try the airlines directly. Either their Web sites or direct telephone lines. Some of the Airlines offer low price guarantees meaning that if you find a cheaper fight on another Web site they may match the price or beat it. Each airline is different though, so you have to check them out individually.
Just remember, if you are going to try to get the cheapest flights, the airlines normally have restrictions. You may have to purchase the ticket 14 or 21 days in advance, there may be no refunds or changes allowed. You really need to know these restrictions.
If you try looking for a last-minute flight you will end up paying a lot more, although there are occasional exceptions. I personally, managed a last minute ticket to S.F on the Millennium New Years eve. And received a better price than my friends that had booked a month in advance! But… you cannot depend on this at all.
Usually travel agents do not get the lowest fares and sometimes they tack on a commission. Travel agencies used to be the best way to get the best airfare, but with the Internet, It is now just as easy for individuals to check themselves.
If you call an airline directly (they all have toll-free numbers), be sure to ask them if they have any specials. Often they do have specials, but you have to ask them about them, they won’t just tell you!
So be careful about restrictions on tickets. Be aware of charges for overweight baggage and remember that many of the very CHEAP fares you see in the Travel section of the local Papers are fares that are quoted, “without taxes” Taxes can really add up.
Have fun and happy travels.

Holiday Packages to the Home of Crocodile Hunter – Australia

If you are an avid wildlife enthusiast and watching wild beasts of prey moving around in their natural habitat sends a rush of thrill and excitement down your spine then Australia is one place which you should visit on your next vacation.

Backpacker tourists from all across the world often search for cheap flights to Australia to see first-hand these beasts of prey. Although the crocodile population is evenly dispersed all throughout Australia, there are certain regions where the propensity of finding reptiles is quite high. However as a precautionary measure, try and be a part of a group when you embark on a ‘Crocodile Cruise’ in the wild as you never know when you might encounter some really savage and blood-thirsty crocodiles.

Begin your Crocodile Tour of Australia by visiting the Mary River Basin that boasts of the highest number of saltwater crocodiles per square kilometre. The Mary River System offers special ‘Crocodile Cruises’ that enable tourists take a close look at the reptiles moving around on the banks of the river and soaking the sun.

To watch these wild beasts in action, head to the Adelaide River Basin where the authorities hang bits of meat over the surface of the river on a wire. As the crocodiles leap out of the water to grab the meat; the wire is pulled further and the meat gets out of their reach. Watching the crocodiles lunge forward out of water to seize the meat makes for a thrilling spectacle which you should not miss at any cost. Quite a few tourists also tease the crocodiles to increase their fun quotient. The Malcolm Douglas Crocodile Park in Western Australia & the Johnstone River Crocodile Park in Queensland are two more places where you can watch crocodiles in their natural habitat.

Perhaps the best place in the world to watch Crocodiles live in action is the ‘Crocosauras Cove’ in Darwin where tourists are placed in a proverbial glass cage called as the ‘Cage of Death’ which is dipped in a pool inhabited with crocodiles. Tourists are perfectly safe within the cage but that’s the closest one can get to a crocodile without getting bitten by them. The ‘Crocosauras Cove’ is immensely popular amongst wildlife enthusiasts all over the world and each year millions of tourists search forcheap Australia flights during monsoons to watch these beasts prowling around and searching for their prey along the shores.

Crocodile Tours’ are not for the faint-hearted, you need to have an inclination for adrenalin rushing adventure to enjoy these tours to the maximum.  If you think, you have it in you to face these beasts of prey head on, and then join us on our next ‘Crocodile Tour‘ later this year.

Airfare Forecast 2010

airfare forecast 2010
airfare forecast 2010

Aviation Industry of India

The Industry of Aviation in India is amongst the fastest growing globally. It has shown a growth rate of 18% per annum. The open policies of the government have led many foreign players to take interest in this sector. In fact, the private participation constitutes about 75% of this sector. India is thus fast becoming a major player in the global aviation market.

A few factors that have propelled the growth of this sector are: increased purchasing power, lower airfares due to the advent of low-cost carriers, emergence of India as a tourist country, more outbound travel, and the economic progress.

Growth Potential

The entry of low-cost carriers pioneered by Air Deccan helped greatly reduce the costs involved in flying. This helped attract consumers for whom air travel was only a dream. Now a number of low-cost airlines are operating in India, namely Go Airways, Spice Jet, and Kingfisher Air, and they have a major share of the Indian aviation industry.

Thus, domestic participation in this industry in India is projected to grow by 25–30% and internationally by 15%, increasing the potential customers by about 100 million in 2010. Also, by 2020 the cargo section is projected to rise to approximately three million tonnes.

Besides these factors, the initiatives by the government are a further boost to this industry. Its plans to modernize the infrastructure and develop more international airstrips are also proving to be an impetus to this industry. New airports are to be built to handle more traffic and ease the pressure on the existing airfields. Modernization of airstrips in metropolises is also being planned. All these initiatives are through public–private partnerships.

Aviation Policy in India

The policies of the Indian government encourage foreign participation.

Government allows 100% FDI via the automatic route for the green field airports. Also, foreign investment up to 74% is permissible through direct approvals while special permissions are required for 100% investment.

Private investors are allowed to establish general airports and captive airstrips while keeping a distance of 150 km from the existing ones. Complete tax exemption is also granted for 10 years.

About 49% FDI is allowed for investment in domestic airlines via the automatic route. However, this option is not available for foreign airline corporations. Complete equity ownership is granted to NRIs (Non Resident Indians). Foreign direct investment up to 74% is allowed for non-scheduled and cargo airlines.

Thus, all these policies promote foreign investment in this industry.

Future Scope

The Indian aviation industry is forecasted to grow phenomenally in the coming years. The Vision 2020 announced by the Civil Aviation Ministry conceives of building infrastructure to support 280 million customers.

Investments to the extent of US$ 110 billion are envisaged by 2020. About US$ 30 billion for development and sprucing up of existing airports and US$ 80 billion for building new fleets is being estimated. The aerospace giant Boeing projects that the Indian aviation industry will require about 1,000 commercial jets in the coming 20 years.

Related areas like repairs, maintenance, and training also provide good investment potential.

Thus, overall it is a very promising sector and a potent investment area.

Airfare Lax

Video Blog 11.27.2007

Where can I find the cheapest airfare to Greece?

Who has the cheapest prices for airfare to Athens, Greece (ATH)? I could fly out of San Diego (SAN) or Los Angeles (LAX). I plan on flying out September 20th and returning October 5. I’m not opposed to booking 2 separate flights on different carriers if I can get a great price.

Check with www.orbitz.com, or www.travelocity.com, or www.expedia.com. Try www.priceline.com. This will give you an idea of which airlines have the best fares. You can make your reservation directly from one of these websites, but I prefer to go directly to the site of the airline I’ve chosen.

So anyway, after u find which airline has the best fares, go directly to the website of that airline ot make your reservation, or else call a travel agent to help u.

p.s. are you locked in to those dates??

OK, I did some checking…but keep in mind that fares are not stable and change daily.

If you go with Alitalia, stopping in both Paris and Rome, it’ll be $839 total. For $878 u can take Air France that makes only one stop in Paris. Those were the cheapest I found. Fro $900 (on Priceline) I found a combination where u travel out on KLM and stop in Amsterdam, and return with Delta through Paris. Everything else is over a thousand.

Good luck…let us know what u decided.

EDIT……as you look around for cheap flights, pay attention also to how long the layovers are. There are some inexpensive flights that look attractive, but may have layovers of over 10 hours!!!

Airfare Buying Tips

airfare buying tips
The Do’s and Don’t of Air Travel Shopping

Where sould i stay if im traveling Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto? I need travel tips for Japan?

Im going to Japan this weekend. Im traveling alone with a small 1200 budget to survive a week ( excluding airfare and transportation). I have bought a JR Pass (thank you everyone for their help on this decition) and im looking for places to stay. I want to stay close to the main attractions and shops but since i dont know what areas are close to what atractions im pretty much clueless on where to stay.I was looking at some hotels and hostels in Tokyo and most are located in Asukasa and Tamaka Stations (one of my top pics). I need to know where is the best area to stay (cheap, too) in those cities. PLEASE HELP!!!! if you have a map with attractions that will be very helpfull. Thanks in advance

Check this site.

How to Buy Online Cheap Airplane Tickets

In case, you are looking for online low-priced airline tickets, ensure to check out different websites. Major travel sites will show you routes and prices for the major airlines. We’ve found that joy-travels are by far the most comprehensive, but occasionally the other players such as Travelotravel.com will have cheapest prices. Watch out for booking fees! Many travel sites tack on “booking fees”. You might get a better deal by booking with travelotravel. Even the best major sites don’t list all airlines. That’s why niche sites like travelotravel show the routes flown by discount airlines with cheaper airfares, which aren’t shown, on major sites. All the airline companies have their own approaches and rules; it would help you to have a variety of prices. Loyalty brings great constitutional rights. Staying with the same airline during the entire trip helps you to receive good fare discounts. This way you build up frequent flier points, which you can redeem for free airline tickets.

Few other add-on tips: -

  1. Check to see if there are reach your peak travel months for your destination.
  2. Check to see if there are airfare deals being offered for your destination.
  3. Check fare-comparison websites.
  4. Use a travel-bidding site.
  5. Be patient, but not too patient. If you’ve been researching for a while and a good price for your airline ticket comes up, get it immediately.
  6. Alternate airports in your departure or destination area may have cheaper fares. Broaden your search.
  7. Spectacular deals don’t last. If you see a fantastic flight deal, book it immediately.
  8. Sign up for email alerts for airfare deals on airline websites. It will keep you updated whether the airfares are dropping cheap or rising expensive.
  9. If the price goes down, it never hurts to ask. Sometimes you will buy a ticket and the price will drop the next day. It doesn’t hurt to call the airline and see if they’ll reduce your air ticket price.
  10. Buying separate tickets for each leg of the trip can save you money. However, if one flight is delayed, you may have little recourse if you miss your next flight.
  11. Once you find a airfare you like on a flight aggregator site, go to the specific airline’s official website and see if it’s any cheaper buying it direct.
  12. As well as conducting your own Internet search, you might want to email local travel agents with your flight route and dates and ask them to find you the best price they can.
  13. Travel Agents and Consolidators buy tickets in bulk and can sometimes sell them at a discount, especially on international flights. Once you get a price quote with methods one and two, try talking to your local travel agent.
  14. If you’re a student, you might get a deal with STA travel. Also, try experimenting with different dates and nearby cities.
  15. Flights are cheaper at weekdays and at odd hours because of low demand.
  16. Prices for a specific flight can go up or down even as your Travel tour agent is getting your credit card information from you, so your cheap ticket can be whisked out from under you. And your fare is never guaranteed until you have paid. That’s the gamble. Fortunately, it can work both for you and against you.

Using the listed tips and advices, maintain consistency in your attempts and be the early one to avail the chances to grab the cheapest airline ticket. Also, make certain to use those exceptional benefits to enjoy your trip to the fullest.
