The key difference when it comes to getting good deals is the adaptability of the traveler. Your flexibility and willingness to compromise on the day and time of year you travel will almost always get you a cheap seat.Airlines will slot people into empty seats to save money, so if you’re willing to modify your dates to suit their goal, you will benefit also. Be warned that switching the date after you have booked a flight will get you a hefty cancellation penalty by most airlines. A point about being flexible when looking for flights is that if you want to cancel or change your flight without receiving an additional charge, it might be better to pay the regular ticket price.

The frequent flyer usually makes the biggest gains in the competitive world of airlines and airfare deals. Providing benefits to frequent flyers is quite normal for most airlines. People earn points or bonuses every time that they fly on certain carriers and redeem and receive free tickets or other compensations.Competition within the airlines has made them adopt this design or join forces with other airlines; many hotels are now doing the same.

A well-known location for finding airfare deals is online. Watch out for online sites specializing in the sales of airline tickets at a discount, the business could be totally legitimate, but it is wiser to book flights with more know discount agents. The problem is that people often have a hard time in confirming the legitimacy of these sites before they are committed to making a payment. Never expect email contact as the only avenue for assessing an agent’s knowledge of the airline industry, visit the office and if that’s not possible, make a call and talk directly with the agent. g., an unattractive stopover. Query with as many questions as you can, to learn of any likely snags related to their ticket deals, such as stopovers in unattractive parts of the world.

Airfare deals are on the increase, and options are opening up daily for new destinations and more flexible routes. You will eventually get to your destination with few problems if you are careful, flexible and have thoroughly researched the options presented by the airlines.

Airfare Questions:

Las Vegas Vacations – cheap airfare and hotel?

My husband and I live in Oklahoma City and are wanting to take a weekend vacation to las vegas. Where can I go to get cheap airfare and hotel nights? We are thinking about going late January to late Feb. Where should we stay? Also do yall have any special tips on ways to make the las vegas vacation unforgettable. It will be my husbands first trip there and my first since i turned 21.

With the advent of the internet, most people have forgotten about travel agencies. They do not cost you anything and many times are MUCH cheaper on their packages than you can find on the net. Call a couple of them. Also find out how much more a rental car would be.
Memorable? Well that would depend on what you like to do. I go to Vegas whenever I can. I do not gamble. The minute I am checked into my hotel, I head for the desert. Death Valley, Rhyolite, Nevada (ghost town), Scotty’s Castle–those all can be visited in the same trip just map it out. Then there is Lake Mead and the Hoover Dam–and a huge road trip to the Grand Canyon (south rim is open this time of year.) That trip can be done in one day also, but wow, that would really be pushing the limits. If you do not have the time or energy, skip the Grand Canyon and see it the next ime you visit. Instead visit Valley of the Fire–it borders on Lake Mead–so just subsitute for the Grand Canyon on the 2nd trip.
But if you do not like the desert and are just in Vegas for the lights and action….well, just walk or drive down the strip. You couldn’t see everything there in a years long vacation.

Bing Airfare

Bing: The Cure for Search Overload Syndrome

What site lets me compare flight prices by dates?

Please read this carefully because I know all about kayak, hotwire etc.

What I’m looking for is a website where I can put in two dates and it will show me prices in between these dates for airfare and sort them from lowest to highest. Something ajax like (refreshes automatically would be prefered but not needed)

Someone told me BING does this, but I couldn’t find it. I also know tripadvisor does it but my trip is only one way and there system doesn’t work well with that.

If you can help me out, I’d appreciate it. In other words, I want to scan a bunch of dates at once.

Skyscanner doesn’t do exactly whet you’re trying to do, but it’s a step in that direction. You can use the Whole Month or Whole Year feature to see the cheapest flights for specific dates. While Skyscanner doesn’t sort the dates in price order, it does present the data graphically and you can scroll over each to see the specific prices. This does work on either one-way or return flights. http://www.skyscanner.it/

Why new users would switch from Google to Bing?

Microsoft had updated its search arena with the introduction of Bing in June this year. Since, its launch the search engine has shown positive growth and reached about 3.52% in August month globally. Various analysts presume that with such a positive growth, Microsoft’s Bing could challenge Google’s monopoly in the near future. However, this is not an easy task for Bing to beat the search giant.

Latest Market Share

According to the latest numbers from a research firm, Bing’s global market share has dropped to 3.39% in September from 3.52% in August. The drop is very small but it is not clear that the attempt from Bing to capture search engine market share from Google has stalled, or even gone into reverse.

Bing has outperformed its competitors in features and initial growth rate. However, the initial take-off of Bing could be due to the curiosity from the web-users. The reason behind this may be the hype it created and also, Microsoft pumped millions of dollars for its promotions and advertisements.

At number one, Google has more than 80% market share and Yahoo maintained as the second most used search engine, but its market share dropped from 7.28% to 6.84% in the aforesaid period.

Why new users would switch to Bing?

Last month, it was reported that Microsoft’s new Bing search engine is growing faster than any of its search competitors in the top 10. Bing happens to be a very viable search alternative to Google and offers several advantages that Google cannot compete with at the moment. Here are some features that enhance search experience for the users:

1.    Travel Insight with Farecast technology: It helps for searching flights, hotels or other travel arrangements by providing you with the information to make smart decisions. The search engine analyse more than 175 billion airfare observations and predict whether the price of a flight is going up or down using the technology acquired from Farecast. It also provides a recommendation of either “Buy Now†or “Wait,†over the next seven days.

2.    Bing Cashback Offer: It provides benefit to the user, who first search a product with Bing and then go for buy. Depending on the deal, your purchases could benefit you upto 30% of the purchase price back in cash form. Also, the search engine offered double cashback rewards for August, but they had to stop the scheme in between due to high demands.

3.    Bing Visual Search: The new technology allows visitors to filter their search enquiries for structured results through data-grouping image galleries making it not just a search engine, but a “decision engine.†At present, it is only available in US.

4.    BingTweets: The new service from the search engine was initiated on July 14, 2009 with the social website, Twitter and Federated Media. It provides real-time information and trendy topics to the viewers.

5.    Enhanced Search: Bing also provides something extra as compared to its competitors, for example options of enhanced view and preview windows for results. With these features, users can view the content of the search without clicking on the url. Also, the enhanced view directs the user to Wikipedia content without leaving Bing.

Cabo airfare is cheaper, and it’s closer (we live in LA), but what’s the better experience?

it depends totally whether you and your hubby are in shape or not. Cabo for the fit and furious and Hawaii for the water and the romance

Cheapest Airline Tickets

I am looking for the cheapest airline tickets first when I start this part of my travel plans. That does not always mean that I buy the cheapest airline tickets that I find. Not at all! As I have pointing out in other topics the other factors associated with airline flights may end up being more important to my for this particular flight than just the cost of the flight. If the cheapest airline tickets I find turn out to meet all my other requirements then they are the ones that I buy and I have fulfilled my goal of finding the best deals available.

An international airline ticket has some special concerns especially since 9/11. The way the individual airline handles the passport and other port of entry requirements may be the deciding factors in your choice as to which airline you want to use.

Many of these factors you will only know if you have flown the airline before. You may want to ask other people you know about their experiences with the airline you a re considering before making your finial choice.

An international airline ticket can be very expensive but can also be the best deal in the airline market. TravelZoo.com is an excellent web site to keep in mind for the cheapest airline tickets and travel deals in general. They offer a FREE Subscription to the Top 20® travel deals and this is a worthy place to check.

Compare airfares with SideStep, the traveler’s search engine, and check out flight deals from over 150 travel sites and 600 airlines with one click. Find cheap airfares, discount hotels, cruise vacations, car rentals, and vacation packages to popular travel destinations worldwide. Also, check out our interactive travel guides for suggestions on travel information.

Sometimes I want to fly first class and then the search for the cheapest airline tickets can mean some real money! I have found the biggest disparity between airline ticket prices when flying first class. Airlines sometimes change prices for the same trip several times each day. In particular if you’re buying your ticket straightforwardly from the carrier, ask if the declared airfare is the least expensive.

When you decide to use the Internet to compare prices for the cheapest airline tickets, compare ticket prices on many web sites to make sure you are actually getting the cheapest airfare.

Usually, we find that the longer the flight, the bigger the savings. This is generally true but not always. So, take your time and compare prices.

Where can I find the cheapest flight tickets to Puerto Rico?

I plan to go to PR from march23-28 which is my spring break, and I need to find a very cheap flight ticket only for me…..please help me!!!!
from (IAD) to PR (SJU)

Try this site, it searches multi-websites at the same time. If you find a flight you like and the price is right, check that specific airline website, sometimes it’s cheaper.

Domestic Airfares Getting More Affordable

Different airlines have different domestic airfare. The airfare depends on the destination. The airfare is usually fixed however the airlines do change them if there is too much of rush. The airfare is reduced generally during the off-season or during those hours of the day when there is not too much of traffic.

The tickets are put up for sale on all the airlines websites. The discounted rates are also put there so that you can choose the best option. There are a number of low cost carriers today in the market. This has increased the level of competition. A traveler today has the choice to fly at cheaper rates than those offered by the top airlines. This is primarily due to the fact that low cost carriers offer very reasonable rates.

Domestic tickets can also be purchased from some travel sites. These sites work together with various airlines and offer discounted rates. The rates may actually be less than what is offered by the airlines. There are some travel sites which are based on search engines. They display all the information available by visiting the sites of almost all the airlines. This is yet another way to buy domestic air ticket.

You can buy a cheap ticket through online shopping. There are the flight search engines like Sidestep.com, Kayak.com, SmarterTravel.com and Bookingbuddy.com. There are also the conventional sites like Orbitz or Expedia. You should always check out the rates offered by these sites. After this, visit the airlines sites so that you can compare the rates and go for the best option. Travelocity and Expedia are actually travel agents who work online.

Search capabilities differ for each website. Orbitz and Expedia will search only their databases for the available flights, car rentals and hotel rooms. The options are thus restricted. However travel services and search features are better on these sites.

You can also get an air ticket at the price quoted by you. You have to enter your destination city and the price for which you will like to buy the ticket. Various airlines sites will be searched to see if they can offer the ticket on the price quoted by you. However you have to make adjustments for the flight even if it does not suit you.

With these options, domestic airfare has become much more affordable. This is the reason as to why more and more travelers across Europe and US are buying tickets online.

Airfare Zoo

Snorta Music

australian in bangkok n phuket ( couple )?

My girlfriend and i will be in bangkok and phuket for 15 days, airfare and accommidation have been paid for. we land in bkk on the 26th of december 2008. what would be the average thai baht a couple would spend per day.. we plann to visit temples, floating markets , zoo , night bazzar and night markets and what ever else spings to mind whilst there. we dont plann to go clubbing. we will do very little shopping. any help would be tops..

First of all, Thailand is a wonderful place to choose!

I am Canadian and have lived there for the past 3 years.

The grand palace- which has temples on the grounds is approx. 300 baht. It’s amazing. But be prepared to buy bottled water (alot) because being outside it’s sooo hot! But water is only 10 baht :) (don’t drink out of taps)

Right near the palace is a temple called Wat Pho- with a hugeee gold reclining buddha which isn’t too expensive. about 50 baht?

I say get to those two places by travelling via boat on the river! its cool..but the water is brown.

The floating market is about 100-200 baht per person. they will tell you more- but you can haggle and push it lower! Go to different boat people and find the lowest price. Many people for many things will try to get you to pay the first price they say because they think your just a foreigner who doens’t know the actual price. But many things are wayyyy cheaper than they will tell you. So say how about ____ baht? and start with the lowest possible number, then work your way up. The markets, as well.

The night bazaar (Suam Luam- Lumpini) in Bangkok doesn’t cost anything to get into but it has sooo many different things you may want to buy. Stuff is very cheap compared to what you’d buy in Australia- but remember push it to the lowest price you can!

The zoo- I wouldn’t reccommend going to. Nothing exciting to see. You’ll probably see elephants on the streets in tourist places anyway…and they don’t have the same standards for zoos as our countries would.. and i think the majority i’ve seen are run down.

Phuket- SPECTACULAR!!!
SOOOOOOOOOO beautiful. I’d say go snorkeling while your there! most amazing coral i’ve ever seen is in thailand. And if you like some adventure- go parasailing! I did for 400 baht- and they originally told me 900. So i pushed it lower and it was sooo much fun!!

Good luck :) I’m sure it will be a great trip!

Travel to 8 of the Best Easter Eggstravaganzas

Although often not named as such, Easter can be situated right alongside Thanksgiving and Christmas as one of the must-travel holidays for families. All it takes is finding some cheap airfare and you could take part in one of the world’s best Easter festivities.

Central Park Egg Hunt Eggstravaganza Until you’ve scoured 40 acres of New York’s 834-acer Central Park for the perfect egg, you haven’t truly lived the egg hunt experience. The event is free and includes an egg roll race and a bunny petting zoo. Fortunately it’s pretty easy to nail down cheap flights to New York year round if you play your cards right, so you don’t have to miss out on this eggceptional experience.

Miami Seaquarium Easter Egg Hunt Score some cheap flights to Miami for Easter and be prepared for one of the less-traditional egg hunts. More like a carnival, the Seaquarium sets up a 5-acre Bunnypalooza every year, complete with rides, music, and face painting. And don’t miss the Easter Bunny arrival ceremony.

Hayes Easter Egg Roll You can pack some U.S. history into your Easter festivities this year in Ohio. President Rutherford B. Hayes started the White House egg hunt while in office, and his traditional is carried out every year at the historic Hayes home in Freemont, Ohio. Pack your history book for the flights and you’ll be well-versed to be the family historian for your trip.

Wells Fargo Golden Bunny Classic Candy Hunt and Fun Race Combine your spring ski vacation packages with your Easter celebration in Winter Park, Colorado. Airlines will often offer discount airfare for spring skiing, so you could easily find some cheap airfare to the resort and become part of the 30-year Golden Bunny Classic, complete with a candy hunt on the mountain and a ski “bunny†race for the tots.

Roaring Camp Railroad Eggstraordinary Easter Egg Hunt Catch the train just outside Santa Cruz, California and in just over an hour you’ll find yourself among the world’s largest trees in the redwood forest atop Bear Mountain for a chocolate candy egg hunt. In addition to booking your airline tickets in advance, you’ll want to make sure you make train reservations with plenty of time to spare in order to secure your spot.

Cypress Gardens Easter Visit the site of the Guinness World Record holder for the largest Easter egg hunt at the Cypress Gardens theme park near Winter Haven, Florida. The park just reopened March 28, so the Easter festivities this year may be not as extravagant, but that just means it’ll make for a cheap vacation package for your Easter weekend.

Guatemala Easter Festival For a more traditional Easter travel to the Guatemala Easter Festival in Antigua for one of the world’s largest Holy Week and Easter celebrations. The whole city partakes in the festivities and if you can find some cheap airfare you too could be whisked away to the city where some of the Easter traditions date back to the 16th century, including the processional where residents line the cobblestone streets with hand-laid carpet designs of dyed sawdust, pine needles, plants, and flowers.

Easter in Europe For some of the most scenic Easter egg hunts, travel to the United Kingdom. The castles and rolling green hills of England and Scotland are sure to offer a memorable family Easter vacation. If you can handle making last-minute travel plans, you might be able to snatch some affordable airline tickets for the whole family. Also check for the days and weeks following Easter weekend for some off-season discount airfare.
