Airfare Questions:

Is it possible to find an airfare lower than $351 +tax to Oahu for mid-February?

I am in search for a great deal to Honolulu, HI leaving the 15th of February for a destination wedding. I have been researching and in constant follow-up of a travel bargain. I have never been to Hawaii, so is $351 +tax (~$389) the best I could do for this time of year, or should I wait just a bit longer for the price to go down a little further?
The flight would be a round-trip flight to/from Los Angeles (LAX)

I have no idea where you’re leaving from or how far you’re flying, but that does sound like a good price. Is it one way or round trip?

Comparing Airfares

When you are planning a trip, the first thing on your mind is savings. You want to be able to get the best airfare available to you and not spend unneeded money. The fact about airlines is that the ones who seek out the best rates get it and the ones who do not, don’t! You could be sitting next to a man on the same flight, going to the same destination and pay hundreds more than him, that does not seem fair does it?

The first thing to do when trying to get the best flight is to contact your major airlines and ask a few questions, do not book with them, just ask the main questions that will help your search. You should find out from the airline if they offer discounts for travel on certain days, the beginning and end of the week is usually busy with business travelers so in many cases the middle of the week will offer a better rate as a simple rule of thumb. The next question is to ask about what night stay over results in the best rate. Many times airlines will offer discounts if a weekend day or a certain day of the week is spent over in the city you flew to before returning.

Once you have the information needed you can start your search online. Take note of the days that are cheapest for travel for a given airlines and insert those dates into the various travel planning sites to compare rates.

be flexible with the dates, there are times when it is better to travel in the middle of the month than in the beginning.

Many websites offer a side by side comparison for you from all the major travel planning sites and others will offer only their services with no comparison but you will have many airlines to choose from on their sites.

Dates of flight is one of the biggest factor on knowing the cheapest flight. You might have planned on leaving Friday for your vacation but if Wednesday offers a $300 discount on your ticket then you might want to reconsider your plans.

Book you flight early, early booking for a flight can make you pay less than to wait for your booking. Book ahead of time, as much as possible and be flexible with your arrival and departing times. A longer layover may result in a better ticket price but if the layover is overnight you might have to consider the cost of airport transfer to a hotel and the hotel cost in the price of the ticket. A few hours in the airport is not too bad but overnight stays can be very uncomfortable unless going to a hotel then they just become too expensive to make the discount worth it.

how much would this vacation cost?

I’d want to go to Europe – France, Germany, London, and Italy.
For maybe a week or two.
How much would it cost for : hotels, airfare, food

Just me and one other person, thanks

It would help to know where you are flying from, to determine airfare.

Hop on orbitz.com and price airfare and hotels for your destination(s). They tend to have fairly low prices so you can get a good idea. You also didn’t say when you wanted to travel and that makes a difference as well. Will you fly from country to country? One week or two? Those all make a difference.

As for food, that’ll vary depending on how many meals you want to eat a day, if your hotel provides complementary breakfast or not, and if you want fast food or restaurants or stopping at convenience stores and grabbing a snack.

Hope you and your travel buddy have a great time!

A New Breed of Airlines

Hong Kong, dubbed as the ‘Pearl of the Orient,’ is a special administrative region of People’s Republic of China (PRC.) Set among awe-inspiring natural surroundings, the city boasts of a thriving as well as vibrant commercial center. Once a typical fishing village, Hong Kong has now become one of the world’s significant trading economies. A strong influence of British culture is prevalent in the area as a result of the former colonial rule. But, at the same time, the city retains its traditional charm as well as the core values of Confucianism.

Located in the south east corner of China, the city consists of four areas: Hong Kong Island, Kowloon Peninsula, the Outlying Islands, and the New Territories. The island is considered the center of economy, politics, and entertainment in the area. It is also home to some of the finest shopping as well as residential areas in the region. Kowloon is probably the most flourishing region, with exciting nightlife. When comes to the New Territories and the Outlying Islands, they boast of some of the most peaceful as well as natural destinations.

In addition, the city has such a great number of attractions that it is quite difficult to list them all. Just few among many of the attractions are the peak tower with rooftop observation area and Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum; the Bank of China Tower, one of the tallest building in the world.

Wong Tai Sin Temple, an ancient shrine whose surrounding area is dotted with fortune-tellers; the Avenue of Stars, which is beautified with tons of twinkling lights; the Clock Tower – one of the oldest landmarks situated on the site of the old Kowloon Station; Hong Kong Park, with a 1400 sq mt conservatory and Olympic Square; and Statue Square, a popular pedestrian in the central district. Above all, you can enjoy a great number of activities in the city, from helicopter ride and cable car ride to an amazing harbor cruise.

Apart from being a tourist spot with a continuum of attractions, the destination is also a main center of education. With a significant number of international-level educational institutions, many foreigners including British, Canadians, and American study here. Besides, the city is also a great trading center, and as a result, many leading, multinational companies conduct their core business activities here. Hence, it is no wonder why the destination has now become one of the world’s most sought after destinations.

Perhaps for these reasons, airline industry in the city is flourishing. In other words, the city boasts of one of the busiest airline industries in the world. Opened its door in 1998, Hong Kong International Airport in Chek Lap Kok is truly a fine example of modern architectural splendor. The airport caters to several domestic and international airlines. It is estimated that this busy airport handles more than 45 flights per hour. Hong Kong International Airport is conveniently connected to the main center through comfy transport systems including the Cityflyer Airbus, the Airport Express Train and the Hong Kong Public Bus Service.

Many of the major airlines operating in Hong Kong provide superb services. Further, many of them such as Hong Kong Oasis Airlines have opened an avenue for a new breed of airlines. Majority of them are dedicated to provide dependably low fares while providing high standards of comfort and service and that too without comprising safety and security. These airlines render non stop services between Hong Kong and such destinations as London. In addition, some of them operate six times in a week between Hong Kong and Vancouver.

Due to the growing number of visitors from many American and European destinations, some airlines are now in the stages for launching direct services between Hong Kong and such cities as Chicago and San Francisco in the US, Berlin and Manchester in Europe, and Melbourne and Sydney in Australia.

Facilities are available to book tickets for traveling, either via online by browsing through their website or through the airline’s customer service center. Bookings can also be made through reputable travel agents.

A Phoenix Rises From The Ashes: Atlanta Travel Information

To gain a full understanding of America’s struggle through infancy and keeping the threads of the nation together during the Civil War, Atlanta is a mandatory travel destination. The entire city was at one point or another an actual battleground for many pivotal moments during the Civil War. The Union Invasion into Atlanta in 1864 is even the center story of the famous 1939 film, Gone with the Wind. Find your airfare to Atlanta today and immerse yourself in the city’s tumultuous centuries and even find some good ol’ southern hospitality.

Most major assets in Atlanta were destroyed during the Union siege of the city and when Union General Sherman finally gained control, he ordered the city to be burned to the ground on November 11, 1864, save some churches and hospitals. Thus Atlanta began again, leading the southeast in industry at the end of the 19th century and racial equality during the Civil Rights movement.

A Large Obsession in Atlanta

A new beginning in Atlanta meant open space for large public works and a sense of hometown pride that has been glorified by many art displays and projects. Book your airfare to Atlanta and begin your journey through history at the Atlanta Cyclorama and Civil War Museum, which is home to the world’s largest painting, “The Battle of Atlanta.” The painting is in diorama form with a revolving audience viewing platform.

If you leave the museum hungry, head on over to The Varsity, the first location of the chain and the world’s largest drive-in restaurant. Then, make your way to the Georgia Aquarium, which is – you guessed it – the world’s largest aquarium. Eight million gallons of water and 100,000 living specimens hold this elaborate marine wonderland heads above the rest. If you’re ready to see Atlanta’s outlying surroundings, take a drive to Stone Mountain to see the largest piece of exposed granite slab in the world carved into the busts of Jefferson Davis, Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson. For a taste of southern musical culture, make sure you travel to Atlanta during the Atlanta Jazz Festival, which happens to be the largest free jazz festival in the United States.

Capture Contemporary Atlanta

Atlanta is littered with modern cultural sights and post-modern design. Take a visit to the unique World of Coca Cola museum where the soda company’s incredibly successful marketing strategy is revealed during a journey through the 20th century. You can see the legend of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s civil rights organizing and campaigning at the King Center, where his tomb rests in the center of a reflecting pool. For an evening out, visit the Woodruff Arts Center and choose among symphony, ballet, theater or its expansive are collection.

Atlanta is one of the most easily accessible destinations in the United States, hosting the headquarters or major hubs of most major airlines at its airport. America’s heritage and legends await; what are you waiting for?

I am planning a trip to Thailand in June, need tips on cheap airfare.?

As the heading says, I am planning a trip to Thailand in June. I have been looking at airfare prices and cant seem to find anything under $1500. As this is my first international vacation, I was hoping to get some advide on buying plane tickets with regards to finding the best deals, playing the game of constantly changing prices, etc. ANY help would be greatly appreciated. I am not looking to spend anymore than $1100, other people I know who have flown to Thailand have spent around $1000.

Try and get a inclusive trip including hotel. I used THG on their internet section for bargain deals and it cost me £600 for ten days Bangkok, and 5 of those days in Phuket, my hotels were 5 star

The dust is still setting after a foot stomping good time was had by all who attended the 4th Annual Rhythm & Ribs, sponsored by the Board of Directors at St. John’s Retirement Village/Stollwood Convalescent Hospital.

How much $$$$$ should I take to New York City?

I’m going to NYC for my senior trip [not with my high school, but with a club sponsored by the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma] in late May-early June for 6 days. Choctaw Nation is paying for our airfare, hotel, and most of our meals, so you don’t have to take that into consideration.
Thanks in advance!

i would take like 1,500
